Got my job assignment and ship date today for the Air Force. I will be leaving June 9th to go to Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX for BMT. Following BMT I will be sent to Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls, TX for training as a 2W031 (Munitions Systems Specialist).
I have a long road ahead of me. Not only BMT and tech school, but everything leading up to it as well. So much to pack, things to throw away, people to see, and family/mate to spend time with. I am lucky to have the support of so many people; my parents, siblings, friends, and my mate
.
While I am dealing with the stress of basic and tech school, my mate will be dealing with a different kind of stress; the stress of being in a relationship with an Airman. Training, distance, deployments, and work will all be hurtles we will have to deal with as we approach them. While I will try my hardest to get stationed along the eastern seaboard, there are no guarantees, as Air Force needs > my own needs. Many may thank me along the way for serving my country, tell me how brave it is, but really the one that deserves recognition is my family and my mate, for putting up with me and being there for me as I go on my journey to become a better, stronger person. No matter where I go, be it the east coast, west coast, Europe, Asia, wherever, I will always care deeply about the ones I hold close to my heart. My mom, dad, brother, sister in law, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, and most of all,

The best of luck to both of you two. Distance is hands down one of the hardest things in the military world, but that's just how it is in the beginning. If all goes according to plan I'll be taking my trip to Illinois for the Navy BMT relatively around the same time. (Navy training in the Winter is a big hell no for me) It's just one of those things you look forward to doing but hate for it to come so soon.

Well I wish you good luck with the Navy. Only thing I am not looking forward to is Texas in the summer X__X. You best keep in touch, we can talk about the hell that is BMT. Any idea yet what you want to go into when you get in the Navy?

I won't lie summer training in Texas don't sound too pleasant either lol. But yeah we definitely should, at least I'll know someone else whose going through the same hell as me minus the water. And as of now I'm still not fully committed to a specific job yet. Flight Operations and Flight support on the carriers seems intriguing from what I researched, as well as becoming a Master-at-arms. (law enforcement). Still keeping my career choice and even branch choice open until I find right one for me.
