Plans for starting our own con

Plans are in the works for a Tri City Fur Con. The Spokane group struggled and just hasn't managed to get it going in the right direction. So I took it on myself to see if this is something we could even pull off here. So, who all would attend if we held it in Pasco or Kennewick? Who is up for wanting to help staff? Most importantly, who is up for helping to fund the thing? It won't be cheap by any means, and while I have no problem paying for most of it, I just cant see myself paying for all of it.
We will have a meeting here in our local area to talk about all of this. It will be held on Tuesday, March 3rd at our place around noon. What I like as far as the con name goes, Columbia Basin Fur Con. But we can talk about other ideas at the meeting. Nothing will be set in stone until it is determined that this is something viable. This is just an open discussion at this time.

then 4 nights at the cheapo across the street hotel is 280$ that i would round to 300$ in case taxes/fees.
then for each of us for the 4 days to eat i'd estimate around 20$ each (cause hey, that denny's and 7-11 are pretty fair eatin' ^^), so that's 160$ that i would round up to 200$ in case we decided to go someplace more fancy one night.
So that comes out to around 1,400$. and i figure a minimum of 100$ extra spending money each. And then maybe even some back up funds. but at bare minimum it's 1,300 - 1,400 but eh.. still a lot of money.. x.x

We are working out the start up details right now. But if you want we are doing a BBQ event at Chiawana park in Pasco. The more people that show up the more support we know we have for the con. Details about the BBQ will be posted in another journal. For now, spread the word around that there is indeed talk about having a Fur Con in the Columbia Basin area.
