Idealization_and_devaluation
If you actually read through some of this, you'll be surprised at how much of it you may be able to relate to if you've experienced drama yourself.
So many of my past drama situations can be explained by this, not to mention recent ones.
Of course this doesn't cover everything, but it surely helped me understand the minds of those douche bags that I've dealt with in the past.
So remember if you're dealing with someone who's just plain unreasonable, it may be caused by this defense mechanism, making them unable to handle the given situation and cower out mentally.

It's possible people just do idealization and devaluation as a way to simplify thought process. Basically, don't spend so much time splitting hairs about the virtues and vices of a person and just declare all good or all bad to save time and energy. In the article is shows people relying more on stereotypes when they are physically tired. Evolutionarily, it's an energy and time saving mechanism from when food and free time were not as abundant as they are now
Just get back in your tree, little squirrel~!
Provided one were to expand those limitations though, be it in their overall understanding of people or their body's ability to withstand such stresses, perhaps an expansion of resources or increasingly efficient means of utilizing such resources, it should be possible to produce a person of more favorable behaviors. The more empowered and enlightened you feel, the less likely you are to engage in aggression and hostility... assuming you have no goals for world domination.
Stay healthy, choose your battles, and expand your mind. Or become a cyborg.
