TOS is a bit... Campy but the dynamics between Spok and Kirk was what set sci-fi off. (ducks behind trekkie fubar)
I wont get into it too much but Nemoy was one of those "avante guard" type folks who dabbled in alot of things, eventually becoming what many would call a modern philosopher. Trek was his most well known accomplishment but it would dminish his legacy if his other achievements were to be ignored.
