DA does not allow porn. Only artistic nudity. Some people have friends in staff though and get away with more than artistic nudity, or simply post ugly naked shit. But that's that

personally, i prefer Weasyl, as there is a HIGH theft rate on DeviantArt and it can take months to get stolen art removed from someone's gallery, not to mention there are many people that will take your art and sell off the character in it.

I refuse to go anywhere near Deviantart because of their theft rate. DeviantART is also chock full of BS images from Google and other sites that your art will just get buried. It's so hard to find legitimate art on DeviantART - 90% is reposted from another source, outright stolen and reclaimed, re-coloured or manipulated from the original image, or just garbage screenshots or shitty "cellphone photographer" images.
The mods are well known to be egotistical assholes -yes, worse than FA- that abuse their power and use it against their users half the time. They also (quite a lot like FA) love to play with users, and let drama/art theft go along much farther than it ever had to and just watch the fire before they put it out. :/ DA on a larger scale, like a legal battle scale, though. (Seriously.)

I agree that art theft is an issue there, but that is an issue everywhere on the internet. The larger community just makes noticing it take longer. The only thing you can do is upload watermarked lower res variants.

I disagree with the 90% reposted stat... At least 50% is classroom doodles on binder paper. :)

But yeah, so much stuff is uploaded there that I just browse by chaining through Favorites (watch artists I like), if I run out I start again from a daily deviation I like.

This, even DA itself can take your art and e.g. sell it, part 16 (Copyright in Your Content) of their TOS has this:
For the sole purpose of enabling us to make your Content available through the Service, you grant to DeviantArt a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to reproduce, distribute, re-format, store, prepare derivative works based on, and publicly display and perform Your Content.
Weasyl's TOS doesn't have that.

I highly suggest NOT going to DeviantArt, in my opinion. That place has certainly gone down the drain in the last 5 years in terms of the community and art thieves running amok. The staff do absolutely nothing over even serious problems (like most of the sites we know nowadays).

However, you will most likely get more publicity there than Weasyl. It takes forever and a day to gain a following there unless you already have a following, or people follow you from over here on FA. So I suppose it's mostly what you're looking for in the site.

I'd go for Weasyl. Deviantart is a no pronz kinda of site, but I feel like Weasyl would be more of a fit for you.

Well, Weasyl is a bit more underground, since it's userbase is fairly small (and is made up largely of the "I'm leaving FA because they're stoopidheads" divas), but they have a lot of adult art.

DeviantArt disallows any depictions of sexual arousal, so it's good for "clean" art, but you'll have a lot of people whining when you don't let them pay for commissions in "points" instead of real money. Aside from that, DA is not particularly furry-friendly.

You can sync your FA with Weasyl with a browser plugin. Very easy.

deviantART would probably be better because it's more mainstream. clean galleries are good way to get new people interested in the fandom. it doesn't really matter though, you could even do it here. Heck you could even do it on the same account, I know fursthat filter out adult art and live in blissful ignorance that 75% of the art on their favorite account is actually porn that they just can't see.

DA is my top choice.

DA has lots of nifty toys, which is why it's put above the other sites for me.

Also, such a lie to hear DA isn't furry friendly. ALL the folks I know are furries or produce all furry content and I rarely if ever see them being trolled FOR that.

SO yeah, I would say give both DA and Weasyl a try if you want to see which you like better.

I would suggest Nabyn, but it's relatively tiny, inactive and hasn't been updated in years. Toy.house would be a suggestion, but it's closed unless you manage to get a key from someone and it's only for characters or adopts.

As for the theft, there are a lot of 12-14 year olds, they don't actually understand how serious "tracing" is and that it's plagiarism, but most forms of it I see are taken down within a week or less. However, it's JUST as bad as ANY site and not particular JUST to DA. They have the same age limit as places like FA, but kids sneak around it. I can honestly say I've seen just as much here on FA and even worse on Tumblr and facebook. However, DA is a bigger/larger community so you HEAR about it more often/easier. Still the same percentage.

DA's premium membership benefits are pretty much useless bling-bling, it's not worth it.

People think that mainly because DA has double standards in the nudity rule, human artistic nudity is allowed but furry artistic nudity isn't.

I thought it was also because on DA, you can make groups/clubs, and there has been a decent amount of "anti-fur" groups, or groups that cater to those that want DA cleanse of furry stuff (with even more anime things). Thought, from what I've seen, they have lessen these groups as opposed to way back then

Also for the "bling", my page serves some pretty large benefits being coded even without the "bling bling". And as an "individual" I enjoy the ability to make my page "my way" and not have to use the same template EVERYONE does. Though if you aren't into THAT aspect then yes, I don't imagine it would appeal, but it's not useless! :) Just a preference!

I only know of dA. It does have nude art, but I haven't seen any hardcore erotic art there (if I have, it is very rare).
Though from what I hear, there is a lot of art stealing there. One reason I stopped posing there.

Or maybe you can make your own website. There are many website templates out there and low cost hosts. Even free hosting.

I think DeviantArt is the better option, weasyl doesn't have much of an audience outside of a very small chunk of the fandom (with many of them having accounts here already/in the past) so it's kinda like an echo chamber.. DA you'll get exposure from people from all over!

You have more potential for exposure on DeviantArt; it's also well established and while they do allow more mature works; blatant porn is not allowed. So it's good all around for a clean gallery.

I think it depends on what you want the clean gallery for. Do you want more exposure in general? I'd suggest Deviantart, then. Everyone and their dog over two decades old has an account there. It'll probably be the easiest way for someone to say "Oh, I'll just add you to my watch list." Do you want more exposure to only the furry community? Probably Weasyl (I've never used weasyl, though, so I'm making assumptions here). If you want something clean, as in clean-cut looking.. I'd probably say take a look at Artstation. I've seen it cropping up more in the art circles I watch, and it has a nice, clean, professional feel to it without all the garbage that deviantart is flooded with.

Seems like there are some people who are reeeeally not happy with DA in your comments, but TBH it's "the" art site for a reason... Best for networking/exposure as long as you join groups and talk to other artists. Comment, comment, comment, etc.

DeviantArt. People assume the gallery to be clean by default given the policies, and it has a far, far larger user base than Weasyl.

Wow... quite the debate on here. Though my vote goes to DA. Everyone on weasyl already knows you. And i do like the idea of maybe getting more people into the fandom and showing them that there is sfw furry.
