Furry Relay for Life in Jacksonville

I'm very interested in going to the Furry Relay for Life in Jacksonville, but the details on MeetUp are pretty vague as well as the website for the event. Have any of you guys gone to it before and could tell me a little more about it? I also would like to know if any of you guys are planning on attending? Its a pretty long drive from High Point to Jacksonville, but I think the trips worth it to help out a charity.
Note:
Furry Relay for Life is being held on April 24th at 2:00pm and the event seems to really want fursuiters to come.

First off all I'm a little confused about the meeting time. It says 2 pm, but the website says the relay starts much earlier. Does that mean we are only supposed to fursuit for a specific time?
Secondly, will there be a specific place we are supposed to meet at? I assume its gonna be a bit chaotic and since I may have to go alone I don't want to get lost.
Thirdly, it mentioned somewhere about camping in tents or getting a hotel. Is this a two day event?
Fourthly, as a fursuiter will I be required to participate in an event or perform some task or do I just walk around and entertain people/take pictures?
1) I set the meeting time at 2pm so that folks could get to the site, set up, and get in suit (if applicable as it's not a requirement) before the opening ceremonies started at 4pm. Relay will then go on until 2pm the next day (Saturday). The way Relay for Life works is that you can walk as little or as much as you want, and you can fursuit for as much or as little of that time as you want. Don't expect to walk too many miles in suit, though--last year the very first lap took us nearly 2 hours because everyone wanted a hug, picture, or both. :D Fursuiters are *extremely* popular at this event, and there are tons of people in attendance.
On Saturday morning there is a children's lap that we were invited to lead as a team last year and will probably do the same this year. I think that's the only "scheduled" time that we fursuit.
2) The meeting place is at the event itself (which takes place at a high school track). Our team campsite will be at the first corner of the track, closest to the event entrance. We also used Facebook and texts to coordinate with the team last year (I can note you my own info if you want). While there are a bunch of people at Relay it is quite well organized, so once you find the camp site it's fairly easy to keep in touch with everyone.
3) Our team captain and a few others will be camping out overnight at our campsite (inside of the track), and you are more than welcome to bring a tent and do the same. Being one that likes showers and air conditioning, though, I opted to stay overnight at a nearby hotel (a Hampton Inn). It's not too terribly expensive and comes with a free breakfast. There are a few other hotels nearby as well. Here's a link to where I'll be staying: http://hamptoninn3.hilton.com/en/ho.....CHX/index.html
4) As mentioned earlier, you won't be required to do anything you don't want to, so you can walk the track, walk around and entertain people, or enjoy the other entertainment they will have on site (live music, games, etc.). The point is raising money and awareness for fighting cancer as well as honoring those who are currently fighting cancer and those who have lost the fight. And also to have fun for a good cause whlie doing all of this. :)
I hope that helps, and let me know if you have any more questions!
But I have a concert to go to the next day.. And I have a felling I would be one of the very few suiters :/
And while its great to have a lot of fursuiters, I don't mind if there aren't a lot. I'm kind of a diva when in a fursuit
It takes me 6 hours to get there. Typically I arrive on Friday afternoon, get checked into my hotel, snag on some serious food and then show up at the track. Yeah, I miss the opening ceremonies, too. I plan to get up early on Friday and hopefully get there at a decent hour for once.
Parking can be rough if you get there too late because of all the people. Access to the school is on residential streets, so that can back up too.
Expect mass quantities of people, every one wants hugs and photos, and it takes FOREVER to get around the track because you're constantly stopped.
Around 9 pm they do the memorial lap, when all the luminaries are lit, and they turn the lights out.
I manage to last until around midnight, when I head back to the hotel and crash.
Sat morning around 9 or 9:30 they do the kids lap.. They love for all the furry critters to join in for that one. It's not a busy on Saturday as it is Friday evening.
There is some limited food and beverages available at the track. Bring a cooler.
Expect it to be hot.
I have a room at the Hampton Inn for Friday night, 2pm Sat. checkout with my AARP discount. Benefits of being a Greymuzzle..
