Any 30+ year old folks here?

Tip Jar! (do not pay for commissions this way, please!) Yes, I am still doing the Cheap Commish March thing, in case you forgot that, this is an aside I want to figure out first.
So I'm in desperate need to meed more people around my age range with similar interests to just...talk to, maybe find a few that can help me in the graphic design side of things, anything. Anyone know where to look? Or if you are one of these, well...hi. give a holler on my Skype or Twitter sometime or something, we'll see how it goes. I will not guarantee friendship on the first few chats and will not think highly of you if you start off asking to be friends or ask for free art, but hey, still worth a shot, right?
Bear in mind that I can be a very difficult person to deal with at times due to my depression/anxiety issues and, yes, this year has not been kind to me in that regard, but if you think you can deal with that, be my guest. Hopefully I won't scare you off too much.

And that's fine, not like you need to be in graphic design to talk to me :P
Yeah, appears so! Hey, now i wonder exactly -how much- younger i am. I was born in September of 1982, how many months of a gap does that put us at?
And while I regrettably don't remember the soccer-themed collab, I definitely remember the old YERF newsgroup and me...not being the greatest in dealing with critique back then, no. I like to say I've improved considerably regarding that since then, but I don't know if that's for me to dictate. At the very least, I have learned much since those days both as an artist and as a person.
...wait a second, I never lived in Alaska. I've never BEEN to Alaska o_o;
The only other place I have lived in besides Puerto Rico was in Ft. Lauderdale for maybe a year or two around that time but that's about it o_o

My big sister was dating a guy who worked at Adobe at the time, I think, and she got his discount on Photoshop 5.0, and Illustrator (7.0, I think... I haven't Illustrator in forever). It still cost several hundred dollars at the time.
It wasn't until last year I finally got a current art program (Manga Studio). I still use both pretty heavily.
PS 5.0 was I think one of the first "pure" Photoshop programs I ever used, not counting the version that came with the scanner I had at the time.
Nowadays my weapons of choice are Paint Tool Sai, Photoshop CS5 (not really in a rush to upgrade) and Illustrator CS5 (same). Also got Manga Studio via a special offer but I'm still trying to get used to its layout
