Mixed stuff of importance including pics\stories

I know this is going to sound like a rant or a something but need to just say things etc.
i am still waiting on 2 pics and i know the artist are dealing with stuff i get it ok, but also i feel like i am sometimes out of the loop as far as if the pics is going to be done and well it bugs me but no idea what can be done aside from talking to them of course which i do.
Now many know that i am a very very generous fur when it comes to pics getting drawn. at least 95% of my gallery is stuff I have paid for. but what gets me is when i ask for a request\free pic. its like i am a new person who has not commissioned a thing form anyone etc. basically no good reputation despite i have paid up front several times and on one cases recently did not get a pic or a refund at all. so that sort of bothers me a little.
Now as far as pics go yes i have a few ideas i so badly would love to get done, some are for good friends, some are my usual stuff of me with someone close etc. but there are also some i would love to get done just for me like fan art of a popular anime\manga\game\comic character that is in anthro form or something and these are what i would love to have as requests you know.. but again barely anyone out there lately has listed to my requests and yes i know money is needed but, does not being a loyal customer get anything... i guess not sometimes.(this also goes for some stories i want too btw).
finally to get off my chest is there are some friends who at times i have gone out of my way and got a paid image or story done that is agreed on but when it comes to the other way around as far as them involving me in a pic or story its like a big not going to happen unless I pay for it and yet they pay for stuff. i hope you all know what i mean. basically they can afford it but tell me they can't and for em to pay or something like that, If you don't want me in a pic with you why not just day so you know.. its frustrating as hell.
Anyway yes i do want to get pics and stories done but atm i do not even know what to do. its not like i can shove out $30+ for a single pic or story like some can. i have monthly limits and i do not want to bother those artist who have drawn a lot for me every time i would like something

This is precisely why I DON'T do requests. On the few instances I've opened for requests, I've had more bitching over free art than I ever have from my paying customers. If I'm going to take time out of my schedule to do something nice for somebody, for FREE, and they won't stop badgering me over when it'll be done, or wanting edits and changes far beyond what I consider reasonable, it makes me not want to draw. Sucks all the joy right out of it.
And I can't speak for other artists, but no, being a regular customer doesn't entitle people to freebies. I might do something extra for my regulars if *I* feel like it, but not because someone says "Hey, I bought a bunch of other art from you, so will you do this one for me for free?". Um, no. That's not how businesses operate, so why should artists? If they open for requests, that's fine, but a request isn't exactly a binding contract like a commission. It's a "Hey, I might do this at no charge if the mood and feeling strikes,". If it happens, great. If it doesn't, get over it and move on. The artist doesn't actually owe you anything if you're not paying them or otherwise compensating them. That's the whole nature of a "request". You're asking for something. The answer might end up being "sorry, it didn't work out".
Nor can you control how other people choose to spend their money. I'm sorry you don't have the income to spend on art that you wish you did, but why should that impact what other people choose to commission or buy? Are you expecting your friends to include your characters in the art they commission, just because you included theirs in stuff you got? Because if so, you're putting your friends in a really uncomfortable position by expecting them to pay for art for you, or have to tell you they want art that doesn't include your characters. Wow, guilt trip there. "I know you have the money for it, and I had YOUR character drawn with mine, so why aren't you having mine drawn with yours?". If you're expecting reciprocation and they don't feel the same way, maybe don't commission pieces that involve other people's characters unless it's clear "I'll get this one, and you get the next," to BOTH parties. It seems like at the very least, you're not on the same page when it comes to getting art for each other, if that's a thing you do.
