An Evening At Kempi's (Trance Set from TFF 2015)
I know, I know, I still haven't done anything remotely resembling a con report for Furry Fiesta. In short, it was awesome! In more detail...maybe I'll post on that later, ha ha ha. I'm terrible with these things. :P
While I was there I did have the pleasure of being one of the DJs in Kempi's, the club underneath the hotel that served as the con suite. There weren't too many folks that stopped by, but I really appreciated everyone who did (and even danced around for a while)! I think the empty floor had me playing around and experimenting a bit more than usual for a live set, so there are a few transitions in here that aggravate me (and probably go unnoticed by most listeners, heh) but all in all it's still an enjoyable set. :) Hope to be able to DJ again next year!

...oh yeah, and maybe blowing the dust off of Cubase at some point and making time to learn it. >_<
Just curious, what version and edition of Cubase do you have? right now I'm using nothing but Cubase Elements 7 and a bunch of free plugins, but I can definitely help if you need some help with the basics.
I have the full version of Cubase 7 and I even got Komplete 9 to go with it. Installed Cubase on the laptop I use for DJing, figured out that it ran fairly slowly and I should probably use it on my more recent desktop. Never got around to installing it, heh. I will definitely take you up on that offer once things settle down (hopefully by April if not before!) and get Cubase set up on the desktop.
Sometimes I wish that I could just take vacation for a month and catch up on everything I've been meaning to do (like learning music production). But then I think that, even if I did that, I would probably go crazy after the first week. :P Ah well, I guess the trick is finding that balance between time to just relax and have fun, hobbies, and that whole working thing.
I'll be the first to admit it's probably not the easiest audio workstation to start with (like FL Studio or Garageband) but it's worth the effort and it's currently my favourite and only sequencer, I'm raising money just to get C7 Artist and do some serious stuff.
It may sound weird but at least for me, working on music has actually helped me to manage my time better, because I feel so productive and satisfied when I finish something that any other task feels like a breeze... but again that's because I love what I do :)
The really funny thing is that I got the full version of Cubase and all I had to pay on it was the sales tax. I had some gift certificates from a birthday and from cashing in a bunch of credit card reward points, and I waited until a sale came along that took off 1/5th of the price. So yeah, I paid $25 USD for it. :P
C7 Elements was a gift from my boyfriend, and even then it was more expensive than that lol.
