So me & my family are in need of a new computer. Our current one, while it lets us access the internet decently and allows me to play some older games with little trouble, has been experiencing some problems ever since an unfortunate virus attack not too long ago and has been shutting off unexpectedly every now & again at inopportune times. We've also had this computer for over five years now, so getting a new computer has been something that we've been thinking about for a long time.

There's a few problems, though: Money is a VERY scarce commodity around here, and we know next to NOTHING about computer hardware.

Please be aware that I am NOT in ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM asking my watchers for money in this situation. I'm not begging or expecting a handout, nor am I opening up commissions specifically for this purpose or anything like that. This journal is not about the financial side of things, but the technical side. Our current plan is to go down the Laptop/Notebook route for our new computer because it tends to be cheaper than the PC Tower route, and this here is what I currently have my eyes on, but... I dunno... I really am clueless in this particular situation.

So I want to ask all of you out there what you think. Regardless of what we decide to do as far as the computer is concerned we will still need to save up our funds for a while before being able to afford ANYTHING worthwhile, but any advice or suggestions you can give us to help will be extremely appreciated!
