Experience as a life guard and I believe an EMR cert.
They've applied at casinos and is currently at one but is treated really poorly and the work environment is toxic (the company themselves forgot he had applied. Twice. Then failed to do their jobs of getting his paperwork to HR).

They don't have a lot of specific experience in fields but is more than willing to learn or get an apprenticeship. Grunt work is fine as long as the coworkers and management are considerate/understanding of basic human needs and such.

I didn't initially put the details in there because he's mostly open to anything that's a healthier work place than what he's had this past year or more.

I couldn't possibly advise them effectively without both a resume and an opportunity to counsel them in real time, face to face. If your friend has a minimal budget for living expenses, then it would benefit them to grow their savings to cover eight months to one years worth of expenses. They're going to need to find a skilled trade, ideally something they've danced around and shown interest in. While doing that, they should spend some time into reading the Occupational Outlook handbook provided by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Office of Occupational Statistics and Employment Projections. They have a website you both can find useful right here. That website alone is a wealth of information that can help you both to find out if the career/profession you're seeking to enter will be a viable one upon completion of academic studies, vocational training, or military career.

Honestly was asking more for if anyone either worked at Or had seen a place that was hiring. Often times you don't see our think of these places because they are beyond your scope. That's why asking around, along with what you are already doing, can really be beneficial.

I've gotten more jobs and learned more skills solely based on the people I know. Because I wasn't afraid to talk to people and ask what is out there that I don't know about and do joins I didn't normally think I'd enjoy.

Neither of us are new to getting a job or working one. But in my state things are much different. Although it was hard for me to find a job, I was still respected and more often than not people actually called me back. It seems to be very different in LV as a decent chunk of people have spoken to me about it. So I was hoping to help out a friend by giving him a few locations that people suggested b/c they knew they were hiring or knew they were a decent place to work at.

I work for a casino company and have had mixed results with their HR. Unfortunately when dealing with larger companies, stuff gets lost in the shuffle. On the other hand, they always have a lot of jobs available. Once you're in, it's a great industry to be in with opportunities to move up. I'd just apply to them all for any variety of things and at least get your foot in the door. Once you have one in the industry, you can parlay that.
