would anyone be interested in custom character designs??

OK SO I'm in college for character design ok. A friend suggested that I could maybe sell custom character designs if anyone were interested? It's great practice for me too. I could charge maybe ~20 dollars and I'd take a vague or more complicated description of a character and draw the design out for someone! Does anyone think that could be a working idea? I'd also fix the design up until the customer liked it.

I've seen character design commissions be pretty popular, with your talent I'm sure you'd get customers.
