So I picked up a used Kindle Ebook reader...

Kinda pricey, but my old ebookwise ebookman
was starting to show it's age and I've really
gotten to like being able to carry about a device
that's paperback book sized that can hold a fair
percentage of the library or congress, yeah I do
a lot of reading. Now I need to find a program
that will translate doc, pdf, rtf and other files to
the Kindle's native AZW format. Any suggestions
would be most welcome. Amazon will do it for me
for a dime an item. I'd rather be able to do
it for free.

When I had my apartment on the lower east side, one room was floor to ceiling
bookshelves and was stuffed full. I feel pretty old too, hell I AM old, but I do
like being able to carry a library in my pocket.
As for technology.. well I can almost find (stumble) my way around my desktop :(
and now I am wistful...
