Hey have you ever used photoshop for your digital art?

I'm just curious if you'd have a brief comparison of the two if you had.

Actually I'm playing with it now and it feels like an updated, modern version of sai.
Anyway, so much rambling... thanks again for the recommendation!

I used Photoshop until it stopped cooperating with my computer, yes (which is why I'm super happy I had this program as a backup)! It's much lighter than Photoshop since it doesn't have all those bloaty photo editing features, but drawing-wise it can do almost everything both Photoshop and SAI can. Brush stroke stabilization, blending, vector and 3D support, great custom brush engines, etc. Plus it's cross-platform and light enough to run on my Windows 8 tablet!

Awesome, thanks for the mini-comparison! I'd never considered the memory requirements as a bonus to the program as I don't have a tablet yet, but hope to get one in the future, so that was a good heads up!

Yup, it runs great! For reference, my tablet's specs are: 2.4 GHz i5 processor, 128GB hard drive, 8GB DDR3 RAM. (model: Cintiq Companion 2)

Glad you like it! You should use whichever brushes get you the results you are after, really. CSP/MS5 comes with a lot of great default brushes but I made an arsenal of custom brushes for myself (some of which can be downloaded here: http://brimercedes.deviantart.com/a.....ials-432012491 ) And try searching Google or DA for brush sets other people have made too. Just play around and see what works for you! Do you have any more specific questions I can answer?

I do intend to do a few tutorials on the program when I find time to do so!
