You know, I think it has to do with the persons life, work, and overall preference. Like if someone who connects to us furs, is in the military or are in a setting where they are using most of their time with their career (usually in a professional line of work, like a doctor or lawyer), they are more likely to be a "closeted" fur, than those who are not, However, individual preference I think , is what stands out the most.
when i discovered the fandom, I was having some trouble findin g my place and what i was interested in and wasn't interested in. I did a lot of reasearch into this great group. In some ways it reminded me of a church. I was tols that to be a "furry" all i had to do was say that "i am a furry". That part was easy, now the hard part was figuring out where i belonged what my intrests where, whether I was going to be a part of the fandom and participate in events and get to know people in person, or be "closeted" and only go online or not at all.
I found a happy median. I particpate when i can, but at school and other "human" events, I am just my regular self.
However that has sparked some insightful being inside of me, that I would like to not be split between two worlds... I believe there is something more spiritual and whole that i can bring into my real existence. I am a searching agnostic, I am open to every belief and religion but whe i discovered furry it touched me in a way, that told me that i may have found my belief. I know being a fur is not a religion... but there are some side religions, in paganism that are connected to animals... I guess I have to keep searching.
Do you have any comments or advice for me? Has anyone experienced this feeling?

Your gona say "Dude, like, you have a Fursuit!" , yes, that is true, i also have a Troll suit, a werewolf suit, a samurai armor, 5 vampier mask/costume and 4 wigs... I like to costplay!
then you'll say "But you go to Furry conventions" , I do, love them, Furry's are great open people to have fun with, and the sex is great... plus, any excuse to run around as a girl infront of 3000 people is good for me!
but then, you'll go: "You draw furry art! So that MAKES you a Furry artist" ... you got me on that one, i draw Furry's and, really, anything that will put food on my table. I don't care if it's a bunny or a space alien doing Jello, if the pay check is big enough, the drawing will be done.
"Dude, like, you have a Soul?!?" ... yes, i did have one, but i sold it a long time ago!
But, all stupidity aside, take a step back and think, really think about what are your life prioritys and what you are ready to sacrifice to get there. THen look what can be done to get there. have to consider the bad and good parts and see if the good out weight the bad, then go for it.
People over do things, people judge, dramatise and simply ignore others and and do not respect ones choice in life. once you have accepted that and push it aside and go for what makes you happy (without pressing it on your neibours face).
My name is Jonathan Connolly, I crossdress on my free times, I do LARPs and Costplay Conventions, i Draw porn, I dress in fine busness suit, i deal with my boss, fly over the world for work and pleasure, i like sex... a lot, I tell the truth and I lack feelings, I can be cold and direct, I have a old 1965 ford truck but don't have a car for the winter.
THat is all me, I go to bed smiling and wake up eager to start the day, and I'm happy ^_^

Great point. But thats all the more reason to be a part of this. I am bored with regular life I need something to spice it up, make it intresting.
