So.. This is a thing. (MLP/Steven Universe related)

I don't get it.. why can't people who like one cartoon like another? Both shows are magical and whimsical and are wonderful pieces of art. I've just recently fallen on to the Steven Universe bandwagon and I have to say it's really comfy in there.. they have Cookie Cats.
Both shows have made me feel so many emotions, both shows have made me cry (Steven's lion delivered video tape anyone?) And I just.. don't get it. You can like Star Wars and Star Trek, You can like Adventure Time and Regular Show, Hell you can even like Fish Sticks and Custard.
It's a cartoon, not a saviour for whatever thing that's being needlessly attached to it..
Shock and surprise.. and lots of people can watch it and can like it. Stephen Universe belongs to all of us. We're all Crystal Gems, Just like we all know about the Magic of Friendship. This is ridiculous.

its a general fear that even still happens with Star Trek and Star Wars, and how we have furries currently fearing we are going mainstream.
We see the SU fans who know of the MLP fandom and to them how they view the brony folks, this also contributed to the problem via the fact the folks who run EQD was planning to do a SU version (but as of late decided to back out of that due to voice of concerns)
I just see it as jitters due to SU is fairly new and its fandom is slowly building up.
Fucking absurd.
I LOVE Steven Universe. I don't give a witch's tit about gender rage or Fandom rage. I just wanna watch the show because it's awesome.
Why is that not a good enough reason?

However, I do understand the fear - that the aggressive masculinity aspect of the fandom that sometimes plagued MLP would migrate over - that they would stop enjoying the show for what it is and try to transform it.
But it was an overblown fear came from one fake post about 'Gemtlemen'. And yeah, as the creators have said on twitter, anyone should be able to be a fan of it! Its a great show and everyone should be able to enjoy it!
