In the wake of IMVU sell
Im not fucking leaving, happy to see fa get -taken over- bought- -owned-supported by hopefully something more stable.
not everyone is out to get you.
someone steals art from you, sue them.
also remember to make watermarks.
anyways ill be right here, doing what I do.
THERE IS NOT EVEN A PROBLEM YET why are you freaking out? you are creating the problem.

FA+

I'm serious, these conspiritards are ruining the fandom. It's like trying to talk to a creationist or a Holocaust denier. Just like the fossils were fakes and the photos were doctored, Dragoneer is "lying."
Everyone is jumping to conclusions.
Ohwait. This is the internet.
Like this? o.o

"OMG! They might profit of my art!"
Highly unlikely... If they use your stuff, it'll most likely just bring you more attention if it's that good that people are paying money for it somehow. Not even sure how they'll profit off it without putting shit on shirts and mugs and selling the merchandise. Even if they just use your image to advertise, it's still your style and art and you'll get recognized easier later if it's that amazing.
IF TERMS CHANGED: Say they did "steal" my art, used it for advertising and for some reason it was wildly successful and made them lots of money... You don't think that some of that fame wouldn't backlash onto me somehow? For people recognizing the art in the advertisement? For them wanting more of my art to advertise with? Yes, technically I wouldn't be "given my just proceeds" for stuff I created but I'd be getting all this free advertisement of my art all over the place which would only give me more business opportunities in the end.
As for use for profit, unless the viewers of ads KNOW who did the art already, they're not likely to know who's it is (unless there's more profit in IMVU listing who the artist is). I also generally feel that, barring an agreement to the contrary, no company can ethically use another's work for even the slightest profit without compensation.
FA may change finally.
Nevermind how badly 'Neer handled this (but we all know he's a bit... speshul in the head), this is what doesn't feel right to me. Furry isn't something to use as a cash cow.
And since they -are- a business, they -will- want a return of investment at some point. Be it advertising or be it user data....
People are just panicking, FA should be fine, no ones art is gonna get stolen or used out of context. The whole panic and run thing is probably a Weasyl conspiracy.
