I'm not going anywhere til I see something changing in a negative fashion for the site. Change can be good, so why flip the hell out if nothing is happening yet? Worrying and bitching doesn't make it any more or less of a possibility. In any case, I still crosspost to Weasyl, so if you're still jumping ship, feel free to find me there

FA+

What I find hilarious is how personal people are taking this. It's a free, privately owned site, run by a small group of people with community funded advertisements. I understand that people make a living using this site but it baffles me that they act like it's their right to run a business here and not a privilege. Everybody likes nice things but you get what you pay for and currently people pay nothing to use FA.
And really, I've only seen the site improve so far since the purchase happened. New notes system that doesn't suck, the much needed ability to edit comments, better cacheing.
Concerning them holding off the announcement until now when the sale happened back in January. I don't see an issue with it. Often there's a lot of legal stuff that goes on and a lot of stuff that needed to be ironed out before a major announcement happens.
Last thing we need is FA to turn into another DA.
I just don't trust this merger...even if FA is said to remain the same. It's no longer a 100% independant art site.
Why are we just being told now when it should've been know in January? That's the disturbing part.
I just get a nasty feeling FA will turn into another DA.
Weasyl is my main back-up or possibly back to DA again...or both.
True, but I'm just extremely uncomfortable with a 'company' looming like a big brother. We live in that kind of society already outside of the net.
I've never been a fan of imvu. I tried it, years ago when I was with Kad...since he urged me to get it, and in my opinion, it sucks as well as a cash cow. I removed it and, in turn, lost $25 or so bucks to it.
Yes, it would be a dumb move to charge people to use an already free site, but I wouldn't be surprised if it happens one day. It happened to DA. You have to be a member to get rid of the ads as well as to get all these 'amazing' member-only features.
Yet people will always vote to stay or go depending on their options, especially on their business and commissioner base. It's sad, but like in real voting, people do use it to voice their opinion as well for better or worse.
