I have a few foils, a box set that I recently got has 24 of them, 8 different ones, 3 of each, and I course you get one with each starter deck, which I have 3 of. I read somewhere that the holos are kinda like the foils, but instead of the main picture, the entire card is shiny, and is a different color than the common version of the same card, but I'd need a side-by-side comparison to know for sure =\

That is true.

You have standard non foil cards that show a character or characters, and it's normal.

Foils are the same design of the standard cards, but are shiny.

Holos are the gold cards, puzzle pieces, or character specific cards (see good Celestia, gold Luna, and gold Discord for example.)

Thank you for clearing that up for me, I have a list of every card in the premiere and canterlot collections, but of course that doesnt tell ya what kind of holos there are in existence, but looking is half the fun, and it's kinda fun to imagine what's out there ^^

I can understand that. I collect the collectors series, and not the playing game, so if you have any of the collectors series I would love to talk more about them.
