what kind of characters would you want to see??? species, personality types, etc
& i say dating sim, but i really mean visual novel with some romantic elements blah blah
but yeah that's a project i'd like to do sometime in the distant future. maybe start over the summer.
Another thing would be appearance and personality, you can have some tougher folks in it, and a few scars here and there, no need for perfect bodies everywhere
You see Foxes/wolves/coyotes/dogs EVERYWHERE online.
Fauns are cute, Gryphs, Dragons, a Phoenix could be gorgeous ;3 Unicorns, too.
Or hybrid species. Unusual, but still natural looking. I have a Snow Leopard/Tiger mix I roleplay. She's built like the leopard, stocky and fluffy, but has the tiger markings (though the leopard colors, still; so she sort of mimics a blue tiger). Not something that would ever actually happen, but pretty to think about none-the-less. There's all sorts of "natural" looking combos that could be made up!
obviously i haven't made up my mind about anything yet, but i was thinking some kind of western semi-post-apocalyptic (idk how to describe *shrug*) with a hint of magic. so it might make sense to have at least one fantasy creature :D hybrids would certainly be something interesting... hm... so many options :P
A cute nerdy little mouse girl would be sooooo cute.
And maybe a chubby cow girl who's self-concious but super helpful to the MC
Of course as others have said you'd have to have some sort of feline and canine.
Sexuality would be something to think about as well, aaahhh. ;x;
I just really like girls because they're all sorts of adorable, fff.
I'd make sure to cover your archetypes too, things like:
- Sporty
- Cutesy / Energetic
- Shy
- Smarty-pants
- Loner / Tough
- the "best friend"
Stuff like that is good to keep in mind. I'd recommend having like 4-6 characters to choose from. Nothing too over the top, but at the same time nothing too bland.
If you really want to focus on story-telling, narrow it down to 2 or 3. It all depends on how much work you're willing / want to put into it.
hh i agree on the girls <3 i tend to just generally make more male characters, but in this case i will probably do half-and-half
& i can see sexuality being an issue. hh. and there's the issue of whether to make the protagonist player controlled (name, gender, etc) or have them be a set character. /shrug
of course, the archetypes >:3
i think it would be cool to pair different archetypes with un-stereotypical species. like aspen said, a bear not being huge and buff, etc
yeah it'll be hard narrowing down ideas >w< i have so many ideas. & i have no idea the expanse of this yet. i have a few ideas for plot so far but y'know
Try narrowing the stuff down a bit on the roles you want/need and then maybe gathering some more opinions,
like choosing an archetype then giving people a few choices of species or something for that particular role.
If you're serious about doing this I'm sure people would definitely have a few bucks to throw your way!
yeah i figured i would just start with my favorite archetypes and build on those
hmm that would be interesting, letting people choose from different protagonists (like maybe how in pokemon you choose between the male and female trainer, which have different names and personalities and whatnot)
haha we'll see. it's definitely something i'm interested in doing, just a question of having the time to do it.
hehe of course
i think it would be fun to have the characters come across stereotypical, but once you get to know them, you find that's not the case at all x3 or the mc is just really judgey lol

altho i'm thinking at the moment to go for all natural color schemes
but cool ones to see would be a bear thats NOT a huge dude.
lizards
otters
badger
tigers
deer/fawn
[edit] i love how the top two replies are totally opposite xD]
& knowing me i'll be sure to squeeze a deer and/or mustelid in there >:3c
