God they just keep going and going. I don't see any of mine but...well I have an account now so I can view some stuff. I only see what keeps being posted though...IMVU is bad but so is tumblr...though at least tumblr isn't making money off the art. I still blame IMVU as they don't make it friendly at all for people to get their things removed. There is no digital way to easily file...you have to print out a form and mail it in.

Its sick...I am quite upset...and honestly O am dealing with certain people right now and they are being a bit...defensive even though they are guilty.

The only way to stop art theft is to not upload them in the first place :S is how I see it. If it's uploaded ANYWHERE it's subjected to being downloaded then reuploaded easily somewhere else, and for those on IMVU it doesn't even matter to them that the watermarks are on most of them, people on IMVU buying them don't care cuz they don't know the artist or anything.

I've just taken everything down off my page. I'm not having it after hearing my friends lose their art to IMVU as well. I'm just... not posting anything anymore, because FA doesn't infact have any protection. So much so that there's a legitimate DOWNLOAD button under the picture. So my suggestion is just taking everything down if you're having issues with people stealing your stuff and reuploading it elsewhere. I'm really sorry to hear yet someone else I know is having art theft issues. It's frustrating and disgusting.

If it's on the web, it belongs to anyone. That's really all there is to it.

:/ I guess I take that risk and have to fight it off when it happens. Hopefully since this buyout happened IMVU will get flooded with DMCA requests and maybe get better about what is being uploaded.

I am not taking things down, as an artist I need examples and I will fight for what is mine. I respect what others wish to do but I am not jumping ship unless they start charging to stay here. I have a weasyl and I also have a DeviantArt that I jump onto from time to time but FA is my main epicenter for traffic and business when I do get the few requests that I get. If you google search yourself...the first thing that comes up on pictures is YOUR weasyl so be careful jumping ship so fast :/

With me...They took my commission from Ifus...and had it made into a full custom skin on IMVU. I can share the images and notes and screen shots if people really want to see but only through notes. I had contacted both the user and the artist and have been voicing my concerns. The skin has been since changed. I am content with the results but again I won't be leaving unless it gets really bad. I am not that popular and people think I can't backwards search my art...which I do. I'm sorry you feel that way about the art, and its a shame that you won't share the work but again I understand why you feel that way. Though if you commission work, make sure they don't post it in their galleries or it will all be for naught. The only two pieces I have had stolen where from the artists gallery not my own, and were from Falvie and Ifus...two quite famous artists so I am not surprised honestly.

I am not quite ready to leave FA...but I will be sticking through this for now. If things get worse then I will make the jump, but I am going to try and be more active on Weasyl. BTW if you use google chrome you might want to try back searching your images...that's how I found out mine was being made in IMVU without credit and through theft. Just a thought as that is how people are finding their art on other sites.
