I'm normally one to ask for opinions before doing something, so I would like some for this situation, especially if you've been into dance competitions. Don't be afraid to give me your honest opinion. It's better to hear the truth.

I'm planning to go try out at the dance competition in Califur. However, I'm more into using dance routines in J-Pop songs where the footwork isn't seen too much and more focus is placed on the hand movement, hence looking somewhat stagnant.

My question is does this type of dance have any place in dance competitions like these or is it not viable and be better off in like a stage performance? I have a lot of insecurity in this and if my watchers can clear this up for me, I would really appreciate it.
