So... this is a very, very early Friday Paw-mail because I'm still stuck in Vegas. My flight out yesterday had a mechanical problem that first delayed it, then eventually ended up in it being cancelled. After three times (and about 4 hours) spent in very disorganized line-ups to get things sorted out, I'm on a flight again to Chicago today, then (if it's on time) will catch a flight to London, ON from there and be home by 4pm local time. I swear... I am cursed when it comes to Vegas - every time I've come here, I've had major issues with flights.
SO, this is being posted super early while I get the chance since I otherwise wouldn't be able to post it until tonight. :) I may have missed some good links this time around, but I've been crazy busy the last few days, so please excuse the unusual lack of paw-focus I normally have. :P
The convention I was at, the "Ignite" conference, featured the Mythbusters' Adam and Jamie as guest speakers, as well as Jonathan Goldsmith ("The most interesting man in the world") as one of the security panel mediators. YAY! More Cari-feets! On a sidenote, I wrote Cari a note just to say thank you for the incredible number of paw-related art she puts out every week. I don't know how she can crank out SO many finished pictures like that. I did want to say thanks on behalf of paw-lovers that she does this so often, and so frequently featuring paws. I think it's important to let artists know you see and appreciate their efforts. :) Her simple and humble response: "Thank you so much!! c:"
So - first pic, I really love that angle she used for the right footpaw - the way the toes are positioned is just so inviting. and if someone with cute paws played a game like that second pic, would you not always be behind them? :3
Third pic has a very nice little short story written by Ceeb - really gives it a lot more heart. :)

Kurra's amazing ref-sheet for Doran Eirok! I know Dorey well, and this is just SO him both in looks and in in every word Kurra's written about him. Wonderful dragon, and of course, Dorey has some pretty amazing footpaws as well.

The Start of what looks to be a great comic - the second last panel offers a nice heel and partial sole view, but it's the last panel on page 1 that I added this for. As someone who has had a thing for feet for pretty much ALL of my life, that is EXACTLY what's going on in my head every time I see nice feet or paws. XD SO, SO true. Page 2 pretty much continues it with the second last panel being yet another SO true kinda mental thing for a paw-lover.

Now this is cool! A very attractive Lemur lady done in Evil-Sprite's awesome style. I've seen a few Lemurs but they always have these thin, whispy sort of feet. This beautiful lady has big, meaty toes and pads, yet still retains that almost hand-like gripping ability. Nicely done!

I was super happy when I logged in a couple weeks ago to find this response waiting from Ermine! I also had one from Solaxe, so for the last one, I went with him, and saved this one for this time. :) I have been fan of Ermine's art for a long, long time and always enjoyed that she seemed to always do great footpaws in addition to just really creative and lavishly detailed pictures in general. I sent her the usual list of questions, and she responded with perhaps the most detailed feedback yet! So here it is....
Q. What sort of interest in footpaws do you have (if any)?
"I don't have a particular interest in footpaws exactly, and certainly not in a sexual way (not that I have any problem with folks who do, of course!). However, I *do* really love drawing them! You can probably tell by the way they always end up looking rather oversized in my work, and how they're visible in almost every picture ;3 "
Q. What type of commentary do you like on your work? What sort of comments do you not like, or don't want (say, creepy comments or whatever)?
"I am ok with all types of comments (I'm part of the "creepy comments welcome" group on FA, haha). I guess the one exception would be comments that are rude to the person who commissioned the artwork (like being rude about their character design). I usually only reply to some comments, but I do read all of them, and I appreciate them very much! Hearing praise for my work makes me feel like a dog that performed a new and fabulous trick, every time :D"
Q. Do you have anything you'd like to personally say to the folks in the Paw-Mail?
"Just thanks for showing an interest in me, and I hope you enjoy my art! I'm always happy to do footpaw-related commissions. My FA page is really the only website I'm very active on (I know, it's shameful, but I have a hard enough time keeping up with that and my emails!), and that's where I post all my commission-related updates, via Journal entries. I don't post much else except commission updates, so if you check my most recent post or two you'll quickly get a feel for how I do things and how often I open for new commissions. I don't use the FA Notes system, so the best way to get a hold of me is by email."
And there you have it! A great bit of feedback from a great artist. Go check out her work - it spans years and years and has all sorts of themes to it. Of course, bear in mind that a great deal is NSFW and there are many fetishes she caters to. By the way, if any of you would like to suggest some additional questions to ask artists, please let me know!

You are REALLY surprised? A guy like you who usually avoids mass civilization is SURPRISED that he always runs into trouble as soon as he visits one of the most decadent places on planet? >:/ We, the "Lone Snakes", overseeing those who walk on their own paths, not adapted to trends and stuff, are not satisfied with the choice of your destination! >:I Next time your flight will be cancelled because one of our disciples drew a giant paw on your aircraft's windscreen with waterproof varnish, obstructing the pilot's view!

And another well done collection! This time I must say that Kurra's pic is very impressive. Even though it's digitigrade, the paw looks totally inviting. Gotta love the long arch and the two slightly longer middle toes! And Shiuk's pic is SO sweet! XD
And yes! Kurra's pic is great; he said that he used some actual references of Dorey's foot to get the look right, morphing it as needed to become a digitigrade paw.
And of course - how could I not feature that awesome Kurra ref? It's SO you.
And yeah, as I've already said elsewhere, the refsheet just feels like such a perfect mix of Kurra's own warmth and his clear knowledge of the kind of dragon I am. ^^ It's so perfect.
