ok so prom question

a family is like stitches its held together and can make or break the object
its my last prom and im going with my gf holy crap was i happy when she said yes.the only problem is my family wants me to rent a tuxed top when i already have something planned with my own sense of style.(btw i cant wear slacks so ill wear black wranglers) my gf loves my sense of style but should i dress my best for the occasion?
so is that a yes to my style or a yes to a proper tuxedo?
yall should make yalls own ''prom'' sometime dress up all nice and dance in the woods with some lamps or whatever!
