Spark-Tegu passed away this morning, March 15th, 2009.As much as he loved to sleep next to me, and loved to burrow under things... I was afraid something like this would happen. During the night, I seem to have rolled to the side, and he had tried to crawl under me to stay warm...
I woke up this morning to find that I had accidentally broken his neck, and he had stopped breathing. I feel absolutely horrible over it, and am regretting not getting him a cage to stay in.
I only ever got to see him on weekends, so I didn't think to get him one until I'd moved to my new apartment. He loved to be out and roaming, cuddling up next to me and falling asleep, or resting on my stomach while I talked with friends.
He was loved by so many people. My friends here, friends at school, my parents' work mates, acquaintances at the weekly movie we went to, and even total strangers. He was loved up until the end, and I just hope he knew how much people loved him.
I'm sorry I have to post this... I feel at so much fault for his death, because it was wreckless of me to have such a small animal next to me while sleeping. As I type this, he's laying on my chest, still and quiet, as though he was asleep, still warm...
I may be taking a hiatus from here for a little while. I apologize. I will try to be back in a week.

Accidents happen, and hindsight is a blessing, as well as a curse. You have my condolences.
I'm absolutly sure he knew he was well loved by everyone. But take your time anyway. Hope you will feel better soon.
Take all the time you need to recover from this. Know that everyone here will support you. I am deeply sorry for your loss.
We never replace the ones we've lost (it took me three years before I could get my current cat after my first died) but it's a wonderful thing to be able to bind with a new pet^^

We once had a dog, a Berner Senner, a very active and cute dog that was loved by everyone , even my grandma who hates dogs. She was a wonderful pet.
But she got very ill suddenly, and the doctors had no clue, due to them being stupid and incompetent. In the end,s he had a kidney failure and had to be put to sleep. It was one of the hardest things ever for me, I sat in my room all day and cried myself stupid, seeing that she had to die with only half her maximum age reached.
Now, Ara, don't be too harsh to yoursewlf, it was an accident and I know Spark wouldn't want you to be angry at yourself. Sparky's bro is still alive and now you know what to not do again, so you should make his life as nice as you can. Do it for Sparks sake.

He was really loved, by you and by a lot of people who had the luck to meet him. There's a lot of people who don't have even half of the love Spark received.
A short life? Yes, sure, but a great life!
He's not dead, he will be in our hearts, forever!
And he will be your brother, following you, staying near you, watching over you, forever.
He will never let you alone.

I'm positive you've learned a lot from this bad experience.
If it makes you feel any better, when my grandmother was my age she accidentally did the same thing to her cat. A cat. Which is supposed to sleep with people(well by that i mean an animal that does so more commonly). So, I think It was a freak accident and you shouldn't feel so guilty.
I'm so sorry Ara-kun. Take all the time you need to yourself. *nuzzles*
