Spring Break a'comin' (Portland trip?)
Thing's I learned/did the past quarter (which started in January):
- woodworking, using power tools in the woodshop
- basic SCUBA (one of the best things ever), learned what it's like to dive in the cold ass, but beautiful, waters of Monterey Bay
- electric arc welding, whee molten steel!
- not to trust menus that claim an item is vegan. I'm severely allergic to milk and not actually vegan, but eating vegan at restaurants is the safest way for me. I ordered coconut curry at the Santa Cruz Diner only to find that they put milk in their coconut milk. Bullshit I say
- as much as I hated my writing class, I got better at writing research papers
- I now understand a lot of the art of the 20th century, since I took a history of art class on Surrealism to Postmodernism. In fact, I should be studying for that now, since I have 79 slides to memorize and several concepts I still don't quite have a strong grasp on. Feminist art... XD
Next quarter will see much more art from me, since I'll be taking Intermediate Painting and Foundry. Though the only problem is that it's impossible to scan works on, since I generally paint on pretty large canvasses and uh... it's hard to scan 3D works.
SPRING BREAK, 2 MORE DAYSSSSSSSSSS
I will be getting shitfaced on St. Pattie's Day and then I'm planning on heading up to Portland, Oregon with m'boy Greg to visit some people. Greg will mostly be recording music with said people, and even though they're my friends, I won't have much to do while they're recording. Anyone live up there and want to hang out?
Anyways, nose to the grindstone, gotta get those slides in my head.
