I tend to create names based on syllabic sounds, sometimes based off an idea, sometimes not. But before I would normally create names, I'd want to get an idea of his character. Obviously he seems to be a proud and sultry fellow. Sultry and flames go together, so that's my initial idea...

Sultre (pronounced sul-ter)
Psalter (based on the sound of above, a phoenix is a mythological Christian allegory, and that really would be sultry to call him that...)
Silt (his dark feathers comes into play there, same-ish letters as sultry)

With the exception of Psalter, I don't see him as having a name beginning with an s sound, and much less with an S as the first letter. Let's see what comes to mind...

He's a regal sort'a guy if I do say so, and deserves a more...upper-crust name if you want my opinion x3 Hrm.
Lancaster, Aleister, Ricard, Abelard, Adalgioso, Elwood..There are plenty more, I dunno, those all come to mind.

Klaus, Kazmir, Yulian, or Czerno. Germanic/Russian seems to be my name choice as of late.. x3 Not sure why. Also Czernobog means 'black god', which is.. well, look at him.
