Honestly FE is a blur to me and there’s so many people that I met that I can’t tag them all and there’s so many that I know that I can’t tag either!

I meant to write this sooner but I was a lazy cat and delayed it…
So I went to furnalequinox 2015 and it was fantastic. I drove down early on the Thursday with sanghaleo, xaviercrystal, zero-karma and diastakumi so we were set with our rooms nice and early. I was put on the first floor almost across from the pool, squee. Everyone arrived on Friday, I roomed with Simbayo, callykitty and nicnak044 - I had a box of candy as bribery for people in the room.
Thursday, I arrived very early like 9:15am early which thankfully after an hour wait got me a room on the first floor (thank you Sheraton for accommodating my mobility issues, I love you). I spent most of Thursday unpacking, napping, getting noms, and getting registered and took a walk through the con space. Thursday I also spent a good hour in the hot tub which made my chronic pain issues very happy – thank you to those in the hot tub who let me get in (remind me who you are again please because my memory sucks).
Friday started for me with Simbayo delivering me breakfast on Friday because he’s an awesome lion. I nommed while he unpacked. Friday my first order of business was hitting the dealers den because someone I’ve been dying to meet was there. My first wander through artists alley I met kikeri.arts and mavrick25 - I quickly commissioned expression sketches of QP from Kikeri Arts because they were awesome. I then walked through the dealers den with the lion body guard at my side (LOL) and I went to the staticclaws booth so I could meet the so fucking fabulous fawxpawz and the rest of her booth team (sinibuns and w0lfpawpaw). Sorry, I have to flail over meeting Fawnix for a minute here, her and I have been speaking on and off for a year or two at this point and she’s been on my “to meet” list for awhile – it was fucking amazing to put a real like person to the voice and name and get a hug from her. And now she’ll probably want to kill me but that’s okay. :P I recall a frantic meowing and scratching at my hotel room door which turned out was Koray! It was wonderful to see her, it was such a busy FE for both of us that I feel like I didn’t get much time with her – sad cat. I suited up for a while and did pester a few people in suit (because yay fun). This is when I dashed off to my room to change for dinner with people!
Post dinner Friday, I wandered around and got some photos. I chatted with an awesome gryphon suiter about features of her suit that were just amazing. I got to the lady furs panel where we discussed an idea that coyoteryan brought forward regarding Den Mother’s and their purpose within conventions. If you’re curious please contact her! We moved forward with social bingo and this is when we realized find out we had some technical issues which eevachu offered to help us with but turns out we had the print outs. Thank you again Eevachu. We were thankfully able to move forward with the panel with no more hiccups. XD Lots of people left with prizes, yay!
Saturday, CallyKitty and Cynphira fetched breakfast at Timmies for everyone in the room. I tacked an extra thing onto my order, a box of Tim Bits because certain Americans mentioned they had never had Tim Bits. Upon delivery of breakfast, I ran out in my PJs no less to deliver said Tim Bits to the dealers den. I’m sure it probably looked special but seriously never having had Tim Bits is a crime, or should be, so it had to be rectified. I got to the booth and handed over the box to the folks at the Static Claws booth where it was met with oooohhhhs and ahhhs and squeees and “OMG woman I love you.” XD I headed back to my room for my breakfast, and on my way back I found a 5$ bill in the hallway next to my room. Instant karma? The big downer for me on Saturday was I wound up feeling really unwell just prior to the fursuit parade so I made arrangements for ace~shep to be QuyetPawz in the parade. We stuffed her with a pillow and got her all set. I was her handler up until we got her to the headless lounge and then she was on her own. So basically any photos of “me” with a red bandanna are of QuyetPawz being worn by Ace Shep! Plus side, after the parade I felt better and I was able to get some suiting in that evening.
One instance on Saturday worth highlighting is I took my fursuit head to get fitted for a collar in dealers den which was great. I was looking for Ace Shep to make the arrangements for the parade. I wound up in Sponsors lounge holding a decapitated head. I was thankfully there with Koray who shooed someone from playing with my fursuit head. Someone that I don’t know, who didn’t ask for permission prior to playing with my fursuit head. He shoved his fingers roughly in the nose which is sillinke which could easily be damaged and he grabbed her muzzle and squeezed. Later on Saturday I discovered a crack in the resin that makes up the “skull” of the head. I have looked at it more closely post con and it’s a severe crack that runs from lip to nose. Thankfully, I was able to patch it with apoxie myself. I want to use this case as a teaching moment and say, my head is worth roughly 800$ and if you break it you owe me money to cover the shipping to and from the maker and costs of the repair. Always ask before touching a fursuit head and do so gently. Just because you can be rough with one head doesn’t mean you can be rough with another person’s head. I was in a daze when this happened and it’s Koray who basically got this person to bugger off. Next FE, I will be marching people to security if someone is even a little too rough with my suit and I recommend other fursuiters do the same.
Sunday I went out for brunch with a group of people and despite my leeriness of Tucker’s Marketplace it was good food and I didn’t get food poisoning – the local one here is notorious for making people sick. This day was slow paced and kind of sad because everyone I was rooming with left the con slowly as the day went on so seeing their things slowly disappear was saddening. The energy of the con wound down significantly after con ceremonies where the theme was announced (super heroes), and con attendance was announced (1051). This is when myself and friends buggered off for a buffet dinner at Tucker’s – yes I went to the buffet twice in one day shush. Came back to the hotel and I spent most of my night alone packing since I wanted to be ready to be out by check out time.
Something else I wish to highlight regarding consent… whether in suit or not in suit if you haven’t been given prior consent by someone to come up behind them and grab them don’t do it. Someone right before closing ceremonies saw fit to grab me around the waist from behind and I spun around politely asking to never do that. I realize I made a mistake, I felt the NEED to explain that I have severe PTSD and coming up behind me like that is a really good way to get punched in the face by me and I shouldn’t have done that because touching someone without their consent is never ever okay. To whom did it, I realize it was a mistake which is why I tried to be polite when I asked you never to come up behind me again. I just want to use the situation as an example of things that do happen. Next year, anyone who touches me without my prior consent will get dragged to con security.
One big difference for me this FE versus my past ones is I planned my meals out, seriously I had sneaky events on Facebook with details to meet people at a certain time, certain place and have noms because I’ve found in the past that this is when I truly get to connect and get to know people. Thursday the plan was for Cynphira assisting me with picking up Harvey’s for a group of people which actually worked out great. Friday a planned dinner at Jack Astor’s filled everyone’s bellies and got everyone ready for the hectic Saturday. Saturday I went for the free pizza, next year I may just skip this and join everyone else for a standard meal – I had more fun at the restaurants for a whole variety of reasons. Sunday I went for breakfast brunch with pyat, Koray , valrusthetiger which was fantastic. Dinner I went for brunch with another group of friends. I want to thank scani for a wonderful convention, huskyk9 (aka Arc) for ensuring our safety), and everyone else who’s involved at this amazing convention! I came down on a whim in 2013 and loved it so much that I’ve found ways to attend the last 2 years. I’m really proud to call Furnal Equinox my home con and I’m even prouder to say that we reached 1,051 attendees – that’s an amazing milestone!
I want to thank lanakila for being amazing. He’s why I think I got so addicted to these conventions because he was one of the first fursuiters I saw that I really fell in love with because of his performance skills. It was great to chat with him in and out of suit this year.
Oh and now that I’m back from FE I decided that I will be going to What the Fur. It’s all felinaeus

Meals do tend to put a dent in the con funds when not planned properly. Thankfully that wasn't a problem with all the food available in the sponsor lounge. Not to mention that pizza party too =)
