I just got a new puppy a few weeks ago. He's part Wolf and Malamute. Arriving here, he was 4 months old, and already about 40 lbs. I've named him Dakota (Despite being told that for wolf-dogs, it's like naming him Fido), the name stuck. He's proven to be a great dog so far, and get's along great with our 2 year old German Shepard / bull mastif mix, Max. In only the short time he's been here, he's really grown on me, and has adapted very well to his new surroundings, everyone here just loves him.

Dakota has gotten very sick over the last few days however. He would not eat, and vomited several times a day since late friday. He became persistantly weaker and obviously showing signs he was getting worse over the weekend. After a visit to the vet today, he tested positive for the Parvo Virus. He's in quarantine now, and receiving treatment. The vet has given him a fair chance of survival, noting that it can be pretty serious. It's been somewhat tough on both my mate and I, but wer'e trying to remain positive and wish for the best.

So the next few evenings are going to be kinda hard, but wer'e trying to keep our spirits up in hopes that he comes home in good health.
