SIGN IT! The current Presidential Bunny is a disgrace! Here's a picture: http://i.huffpost.com/gadgets/slide.....79156_free.jpg
I couldn't fit the whole petition on the page, so here it is:
The United States is justifiably proud of the hard work and thought that goes into its celebrations, especially those held by the government. Across the country thousands of festivals, concerts, fairs, and other events are put together by creative and enthusiastic Americans. Those held at the White House symbolize and show off our best efforts as a nation to honor and celebrate our shared cultural heritage. The annual Easter celebration is no exception, being a great experience for all ages with activities attended and often run by the President personally.
As such, it is troubling to see that the dedicated public servant who works very hard to bring to life the Easter Bunny for the lucky children who are invited to be part of the Easter Egg Roll must be given such an outdated and poorly made costume. While there is no doubt that the federal acquisition process procured the best Bunny suit that fit both requirements and budget, there can be little doubt looking at it that the requirements were lacking and given everything else done that day that some more could have been spared from the budget to procure a better quality costume that could easily be used for many years. It is an embarrassment to this great nation that in a well publicized event - that is seen around the world - the President is accompanied by a substandard Bunny.
Our anthropomorphically inclined citizens produce superior quality costumes every day for themselves and their fellows, including many bunnies, rabbits, and other Leporidae. These are great examples of the artistry and craft of American bunny costumes, and should be celebrated by the inclusion of a well made bunny costume in the Easter Egg Roll. So we petition the White House to retire the current Easter Bunny suit and instead buy from an American small business or independent artist who can produce a product superior to the one currently in use with minimal overhead. We accept that most – in fact, likely all – of these artists are lacking in a CAGE Code or other credentials required for the federal acquisition process, but if it were known that they could compete to have their craft and costume art seen at one of highlights of the national calendar, I am sure that they would be willing to work with the government to satisfy any statutory requirements.
