It's really your choice. I know some people like to have separate accounts just for that stuff, but if it becomes too much of a hassle, I doubt anyone would object.

I think it's easiest to merge. While having multiple accounts is common, the more you expand your offerings, the more "merged" the content tends to become anyway. Besides, if people are horrified by NSFW imagery... one has to wonder what the hell they're doing on FA in the first place. XD And as you say, it can be avoided for the most part by settings and thinking-before-clicking.

I think you should keep this account clean and just leave a link on here to your adult account. I find that after so many years I want to give people that option to follow one, the other or both. On this account you can be friendly and be open to people finding your art for the first time. On the other you can explore your sexuality and be a little more open about your likes and dislikes. Consider this where you are during the day and the other place where you go to a night. Keeping things divided will also help you figure out where your priorities lie later on. I find that artists often struggle with weather or not doing adult art is really for them. So if at any point you decided its really not how you want people seeing you, you can simply close the other account and you have this place representing what you might feel is the part you want everyone to recognize you by.

Its all really up to you, exploring parts of yourself leads to better understandings of who you are. People are a mix of their likes and dislikes, its just a good idea to keep things separated clearly. Hope that helps. *waves*
