I've mentioned in the story that Daniel and Blanker each have a Scorch--that is, a brand done via hot iron. I'm changing that to a Shave-In, which is a temporary placeholder where the fur is shaved to create the desired pattern. It is NOT a brand, but either suggests someone wants a brand of that pattern/wants to earn that particular brand (if he did the shave-in himself) or is on the way to earning the brand (if someone else did it for him).

Both Dan and Blanker thus have shave-ins of their respective Dojos' brand--given the nod as prospective full members of those dojos (and the gangs that go with them), but not yet actual members.
