The whole point with mods is that they provide a free and, most importantly of all, fun extra experience to the game as a whole.
I mean, just look at the HUGE catalogue of mods you can get for the Fallout games through the Nexus database, some of them are labors of love that the creators want to share for free to everyone else.

Want to know something about mods?

First of all, they aren't of your fucking -ownership-.
And yes, They still aren't of your own personal ownership just because someone used your engine.... Especially so when they are given out FOR FREE.
Your outdated and outclassed fucking shitty, laggy and crashy engine (May I add that).

So when you get a game like TF2, you don't fucking force people to have their own products be just put there simply for show and then PERHAPS.... IF THY lard gayben desires so, maaaybe they get "introduced" into the game... Because that defeats the point of a goddamn community spot in which people can freely and automatically download their mods for their own games. It makes you all look like a bunch of appropriate, lazy fuck-wads scumbags that would much rather use their own community of loving fans as a way for you to cheaply recycle whatever they make surely without even fucking -paying- them to begin with.

An overpriced COMPUTER (not a Console, Mind you) that's a fucking pre-fab, of all things.. And one that only attempts to fool in the "casual" stupid fucking customers who can't even bother to check an hardware list and some reviews.
Bolstering an unstable, not yet ready O.S that is no way, shape or form ready to take on even this septic-tank of programing that is Windows .... With a fucking "controller" that looks like something that should belong in a janitor's closet.

A Mod... Is a Mod.
It's a modification of an already existing game that uses it's source code\engine\assets depending on the cases...
And I suppose that, if a modder really did soo much of a good job and you wanted to support him with a donation...
You'd risk of violating -copyright- because you are paying someone using assets and an engine made by a company and such... Also another reason as to why you -can't- sell assets and things from an existing game to someone because you risk a fucking lawsuit if you are caught...

IF...

IF and only IF a mod becomes something official, most of the times it's a whole game of it's own which starts as a total conversion and moves on to be a "legit" thing... And when THAT HAPPENS you HAVE to buy the fucking engine LICENCE so that you do not violate any copyright laws and can distribute your own product and be paid...

....Here.. We are talking about a system that is cluster-fucked by size limitations.
So sometimes you have to download a whole mod in 9 DIFFERENT PARTS.... Even MORE sometimes... Try and look for the biggest l4d2 campaigns and you will see what I fucking mean...

A system that doesn't even have the courage to let people release adult contents.
Despite the fact that once a game is for adults and is classified with such a rating... It's set for a good reason.
Then the KIDS found would have their families arrested because that ALSO violates another fucking law in which parents are MEANT TO BE TAKING CARE OF THEIR OWN GODAWFUL "SPAWNS".... NOT ACCUSING GOOD AND CREATING DEVELOPERS THAT WANT TO DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT OF MAKING GAMES FOR "SATAN" OR SOME OTHER IGNORANT CRAP!! FUCK!
So Valve should have no issues with doing that, especially considering that even their most supposedly "child-friendly" games like TF2 can become sickeningly violent and gory with blood and body parts exploded everywhere... (And did I mention people getting torched alive? I think you get the point here)
But no. Ofcourse not, games in which you can stab and kill and shoot people?
No adult contents to be allowed.
