Ask A Stupid Question...
Get a stupid answer!
In other words, it's open question time for anyone who has ever wanted to ask me a question but never got around to doing so, either cause I was dead for seven years for purposes of tax evasion... or cause you are one of those shy kinda folks afraid to question an artist you might like. Feel free to ask what you want and I will answer. Be prepared for snark. It may happen... from time to time I've been known to like it. Hope to hear from a few curious folks!

Well, depends on your point of view. For most of us... hot, humid, swampy, and filled with lots and lots of scurrying things and damn dangerous fish! For literal creationists... it was the prelude to the documentary series known as the Flintstones. Humans going about helping all those poor dinos with their stubby little legs, giving them nice homes to live in, feeding them, playing fetch with them, and calling them Spot or Rex. It was a fun time!

Nope, sorry, still can't understand it. Next question!
--Mozdoc
I originally made the character of Wyldsyde shortly after seeing the Batman Animated series episode featuring Roxy Rocket, who inspired Wyld's creation. She was an adrenaline junkie, looking for the next big risk or thrill all the time. Fought heroes for kicks and excitement. I wrote Wildside down on her NPC sheet and just shook my head a moment later and changed both I's to Y's. It just felt better that way. So wild and carefree she didn't even like the regular spelling of her name. Had to be different. So there you go.
*puts paws atop a little fan*
... Butt.
Stop calling me butt...
Ahm too fast fer ya son! Ya hear me? Listen to me when ah talks to ya now!
So are we both butts? Let's bump butts.
Okay, now we're just being silly!
Hey, it WAS a legit question. ^^;
And you say that like silliness a BAD thing. =<.<=
And you should talk, sis, as I've seen you "borrow" MY prrf from time to time. ;)
So why is a raven like a writing desk?
[flops]
You obviously are into the whole sparring and fighting stuffs; what kind of fighter do you consider yourself? Like, do you use any weapons or are you more paw-to-paw? And if you are paw-to-paw are you more of a brawler? A kickboxer? Asian-style arts? o3o
Seems like with the combination of taekwondo and capoeira, both seeming to have a lot to do with sweeping kicks, seems like that's a major focus on the legs there. Not terribly surprising, since y'seem to have some pretty long-reaching and powerful-lookin' legs. :P Not to discount all of the grapples and such; though I'm sure some people might like be hugged and pinned down by you. ... Heh-heh. e..e
Seriously though, all this talk about fighting styles makes me wonder about my own, since legs are important to me too. And tail. ... S'fun considering coming up with anthro-specific fighting styles. >:D
The first is , do you give snuggles and hugs ?
I have more to come lol <3
It's just good to see you back <3
That was only one question. Your definition of many needs some work. Hee hee hee!
What are your plans now that you have me? What's your favorite thing to do for fun and can I join in on the fun ? See I ampacing myself on the questions hehe.
My favorite hobby/pass time activity is role play to be honest. Table top stuff most of all. Ask around... quite a few folks think I'm pretty good at it.
Snugs the heck out of a raptor.
Chirp Chiiiirrrpp ~<3
Do you like to RP with other furs? A big fluffy, funny yet badass kitty like you seem like the type to. =3
Can I hug the big soft kitty then? <3
:O
Are you the hero of time?
Can be useful for polling of ideas in addition to enhanced readability.
What's your favorite alcoholic beverage?
"There you go."
What is the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow? XP i just had to ask that lol
and...i do not know that o3o *gets launched into the gorge of eternal peril...then climbs out half burned and tip of his tail with a little flame on it* that place is hot! @.@
And no! Kitty pays for nothing! Cause I'm stingy!
So, was that comic yours? unless if I missremeber other thigns in 1 thing =p
All I can say is... a repeat of my favorite quote Geemo.
"A laugh can be a very powerful thing. Why, sometimes in life, it's the only weapon we have." -- Roger Rabbit
his claws dwarfs peninsulas
His maw devours countries
His breath rivals hurricanes
his visage fills the sky
as the titan claims the planet.
His planet.
what is your opinion on the current state of literary work in the furry community as a whole? How its viewed, treated, responded too, etc.
A writer spends not hours, but likely days and days creating his story if it is of any decent length at all. He carefully has to go over it for continuity, spelling errors, grammar, and making sure it all flows well and tells exactly what he intended it to. A writer commonly will rewrite thousands of words over if the story got away from him or her or did not come out right. All this effort, potentially a week or more for a long tale, and 90% of folks will see STORY pop up and simply ignore it. Why? Reading takes time. The average attention span of many people on line is that of a ferret hopped up on caffeine and pure sugar. I don't want to insult anyone by saying that but it is very much true. Even I am guilty of it from time to time... see a story, go oooh, wanna read it, then a flipping cat video appears or a Netflix show I wanna watch showed up and poof... I'm off and don't go back to the story. This is a pure and simple shame. An artist may produce a picture or two, maybe even tell a short tale through a comic, but most writers who are really serious about what they write are giving you the equivalent of hundreds of pictures for your imagination to piece together. They build whole worlds and tell complete tales. A single story can evoke dozens of emotions in a reader, make you happy, sad, enraged, morose, giddy, and more, while a single picture is lucky if it can inspire more than two emotions at once.
Writers also don't get the kind of response that an artist gets either for their work. Again, criminally unfair. Watches? I got over 800 folks, a modest number for many artists here on FA... other artists have in the thousands. A pure writer is lucky if he gets up to my number. Those that do often have a good number of pics they share for others that are commissioned or gifted to them... and again the watchers likely come to see the pics. A story usually gets a tiny handful of comments, a smattering of faves, and that's about the sum of it. Now I know that some writers do get modestly popular, but they do not compare to the rock stars and are few and far between. Especially those that don't write porn stories. Again, I got no problem with someone writing such. Some are amazingly well written and even have a story to go along with it. It just is sad that writers don't get the attention artists can muster up.
Will this ever change? Likely not. I can't foresee it doing so, for it is simply the nature of the beast in the current day. All I can say is that I do take the time to read some folks' stories. I read quite a few during my time of non-existence. I have read almost everything I have seen
This has probably been one of my biggest struggles as of late as to get myself motivated to write. i've basically devolved into only writing smut, because the few times ive ever tried to write much of anything with an actual story it got mostly ignored. so in a way whether consciously or not i started thinking i was just wasting my time. Its unfortunately the problem of being in such a niche community.
It doesn't help that most of the websites in the furry community barely cater to writers at all. Viewing stories on FA or weasyl is downright painful, and making people download a file to look at it is just another barrier that further makes it hard to get people to be willing to put in the time. It'd be nice if the community leaders could give a bit more effort into making the writing struggle a bit easier with some better tools at our disposal.
Worse still like you kind of described in some ways a single story takes a lot more effort than a single picture a lot of the time. but writers can never say this out loud because most artists get all hyper defensive, and start ranting about how art is hard too (Which it is, don't get me wrong!) and it just kind of further takes the wind out of writer's sails when we can't even really discuss some of the problems we have without us just seeming like we're complaining or trying to put ourselves on a soap box over artists.
THE STRUGGLE IS REAL, WYLD.
Fight the power
Also... please... don't stop writing. I'll take the time to read your work now that I know you're doing it. I'd love to see what you make.
While a picture may be worth a thousand words, it's the words that inspire most of the pictures to begin with. Whether it's a rich description making someone say "I've just got to draw that," or a quick couple sentences setting off a cascade of images until one comes out on paper, the words cannot be disregarded.
One way or another, I've gotta make the time.
What's the minimum size (relative to human averages) for you to consider a character "macro"?
And how do you feel about griffins?
I feel that griffons go awesome with stuffing and buttered peas and... oh oh... sorry. I like griffons! They look cool, especially when well drawn.
Hm. Demon-form, maybe; that gets to 10' sometimes. Of course dragon-form can get to ridiculous scale, even if anything bigger than tractor-trailer semi-sized is -- inconvenient.
To be honest, this comic being linked from the BEArchive forums was the reason why I started reading Stalag99 before I really found the furry fandom.
As a side note, I've changed fursonas since the first time I met you the one time you were in Northstar back in mid 2007. Back then I was a husky that eventually morphed into a gray wolf, and in 2012 I changed to being a Chakat (a herm felitaur). I even got to talk to Padfoot once around the same time I saw you. Doubt you would remember my name from SL: Danball Tueaud.
I probably started reading that comic around late 2004, early 2005 linked from forum.bearchive.com. Had a tiny exposure to the fandom around that time from an article on Anime News Network about Furtype magazine, then forgot about it until I joined SL Jan-March 2007.
my favorite tv show is Once Upon a Time on ABC, and Downton Abbey on PBS
my favorite movie is Disney Frozen and Disney movies.
TV Shows] Flash, Daredevil (OMG so good!), Game of Thrones, Blacklist (I could listen to James Spader read a dictionary), and Sherlock are my current favorites. Just amazing stuff. Runner ups are Arrow, Agents of SHIELD (gotta see all the tie-ins, taps vein, need Marvel fix), and Once Upon a Time.
Movies] Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, Spiderman (Sam Raimi one), Saving Private Ryan, Star Wars (before Lucas butchered it with revisions), and Blade Runner ("Like tears... in the rain..."). Oh, also... everything from Pixar. Literally everything.
1. Have you ever considered offering commissions? And if so, would there be any fetishes/kinks that you'd be willing to try out or are just curious about? Like micro/shrinking, breast expansion, pregnancy, weight-gain, etc.?
2. Do you watch any of the popular animated shows that are out there now (like Gravity Falls, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Adventure Tim, etc.)?
3. Are there any artists out there that you consider to be an inspiration for your own work? And what convinced you to start drawing the stuff that you draw now?
Anyway, thanks for reading and I hope you're doing well. =3
2] I watch very few animated series currently on aside from Star Wars: Rebels. I have seen some episodes of MLP, those with Discord... cause John de Lancie as Q is too good to pass up again, even if he is an animated thingy. I've seen Adventure Time a bit... especially the episodes with the Lich King (Ron Perlman rules so hard).
3] Comic books made me want to draw. I have read them since a little kid and love them so much. Anime has inspired some of my style over time, as well as Bruce Timm's animated DC universe, which was outstanding. The minimalist animation just worked so masterfully. As for furry artists... Ken 'Cougr' Sample is the real reason I got interested in furry art. Without him, I'd never be here. Plus he showed me macros (What?!? Giant cats stomping on buildings?! That's a thing?! I want!!)
Thanks for writing and doing well!
And cool, I think it's always interesting to see what inspired other people to draw and do what they do; I'll even admit that you were one of the people that kinda got me into drawing furry stuff myself (specifically of the bosomy variety). =3
Oh and one more question, has your character ever been drawn wearing shoes? I kinda get the feeling that she hasn't, but just figured I'd ask anyway.
Anyway, thanks for answering my questions, as it's appreciated.
As for shoes... yes, just once. I drew Wyld in long high leather boots with high heels. She even had a business dress on with glasses and her hair pulled back. It was certainly a different look.
I love em both, though Star Wars a bit more than Trek.
Also what's the square root of a salmon?
The square root of salmon is shrimp.
Would you go out on a date with him? http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9268440/
Without sending him to the ER....
Wyld scooped up the little skunk in hand and carried him along with her. "So, where you gonna take me out to? You're paying for dinner right? I tend to eat a lot at this size. Hee hee hee!"
But my usual dating way is dinner, a show and maybe a nice walk in the park/beach...and off coarse it is my treat.
And maybe a little snuggle time...which usually lands me in the ER...

...And also, Airbus or Boeing?
Hmmm... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... Boeing.
And hmph! Going with yokes over joysticks huh? Tsk tsk tsk...
My question then is. Don't you wish people actually would take time to actually "read" things more?
So, yes, I would love to see other read more. Myself included. Heck, we should start up a 'story a week club' kind of thing. Where we share links to writers out there who have wonderful stories to share and deserve more attention. We read at least one new story each week. I'm game if you are. I'd suggest Integration by
On the topic of reading, thanks for reading my ramble rant above. Ha! Figured most folks would go "Oh gods, the cat lost her mind! TL;DR"
and Im thinking of writing a story about how Wyld and Cye met in the BF funnies universe. That okayÉ
I was wondering if you still played Exalted. I at least remember seeing some pics about it from you. I personally think the world is my favorite RPG and should def played by more people ^_^ It actually reminded me to upload some of my characters too :)
I was too new to everything when you first left to really have the courage to talk to anyone, but I hope that I can change that now. Hope you have a great day :)
I haven't played Exalted for a while, but I did and still do love that game. It's setting and style and over the top action was truly wonderful. Plus, I loved all the names used in it. Mask of Winters. Bodisatvah Anointed by Dark Waters. Good grief that was fun. In some good news, they are working on a third edition. I hope it comes out well. I really do. Nothing would please me more than to see it revived again.
Glad to hear from you Light. Don't ever be afraid to say hi to this kitty.
Kidding. :3
As for a real question, well, do you have any tips or encouragement for someone trying to become a visual artist? ^_^ While writing is nice and all, I've also always wanted to be about to at least passably show off my ideas in a visual way... some day...
Other than that, how are you doing? ^_^ To be polite. And I'm in a weirdly cheerful mood tonight.

Here is a link to a PDF of the book You Can Draw in 30 Days. Try it. I can't again praise it enough.
http://www.swcta.net/teachers/tomme.....awIn30Days.pdf
Once you finish what that book has to offer, then you can begin to branch out into the study of other art books and instructions that focus in greater detail on topics such as figure drawing or whatever else you wish to focus on. Let me know how it goes for you though if you truly take the plunge. I can only tell you how drawing makes me feel... that it is a simply wonderful thing to create something before your own eyes where before there was a blank sheet of paper and only an image in your head. But, even more special, is being able to share that with others.
As for how I'm doing, great! Happy drawing!
Still, thanks for the tips. :3 Hetzer mentioned you recommended that book to him and it's going well for him, so I probably will get it soon; whenever classes let up. I'll definitely tell you when I start - having someone to talk to, support, will make sticking with it totes easier. ^_^
Yeah, that feeling... that's what I want to feel. Always wanted to experience that... one day, hopefully. ^_^
Also curious! So is Mish just like gone now? X3
I'm glad to offer the tips Dusty. More than that, I gladly offer support as well. I would love nothing more than to see yet another person able to learn to draw. Unlike some folks I have heard of that treat art as a guarded secret, I feel it is something that everyone who wants to try and learn should learn. Just stick with it.
Something important to know and remember when drawing too Dusty. So many people get really discouraged when seeing more accomplished artists and what they can do as compared to their own works. The thing to remember is that artists are not in competition with each other. Don't strive to be better than X artist or Y artist to start. That is nothing but the path to frustration and feeling bad about one's own work. The only person you need to focus on being better than is yourself. Always push yourself to do better than before. To improve on what you have already learned to do. Also, keep your old work. The bad art, the poor work, the early sketches, anything that you think did not come out well. Then look back fondly on them as you get better. Seeing with your own eyes how you improve is nothing but a confidence builder.
So, get to it Dusty and see what you can do. As a note, the link to that PDF is free. The book is available online free at that link and not something illegal either.
Also, things have gotten a bit hectic since I have shown back up as Wyld, but I will do my best to get to your pic as well. Soon as I get past some of my back load of work. Heh heh.
And man, that was a pretty inspirational postie. ^_^ I'm almost at a loss for how to comment on it really, but thank you very much. :3 Comparing myself to other artists has always been a pitfall of mine, or for one reason or another getting discouraged and stopping my practice. But your advice will be helpful... just looking at myself, and my past work, all I'll see is improvement (hopefully).
Can't wait until I can begin. ^_^ Hopefully I can do it before the Summer, but either way I am making it happen this year. That book sounds like it will be a real life saver. Thank you. :3 Will have to thank Hetzer too, since he is the one who first got my interest rekindled by talking about starting himself.
Also no worries at all there, I understand. X3 Whenever you have time. Especially for a free pick, which I wish I could amend, but I have little to offer except for trashy writing that would take even longer to come out. X3

(1) May I have a nice paw-smish, please? Or, really, any type of smish; there's no such thing as a bad smish...
And, on a less presumptuous note...
(2) How do you find that Wyld's capoeira style interacts with other fighting styles; specifically the more circular styles (baguazhang circle walking, certain kung fu styles, etc) and the redirection-based styles (aikido, tai chi, etc)? I'm curious what it would be like if Wyld and Narz (whose go-to style is a sort of distilled eccentrica of circular and redirecting styles combined with grappling elements) were to have a friendly sparring match, or to team up against others.
My (admittedly novice) predictions: Sparring, the spirals of capoeira movement would either cancel out the circular styles, or they'd wind up wrapped together in a tangled mess 'cause everyone spun the same direction. :) Either way, advantage Wyld. Teaming up, I have just one word: Blender.
These are the odd things I wonder about.
The thing about how I always envisioned about the character fighting is that though she is a maestra level capoeirista, she does not strictly adhere to the style while fighting. She constantly switches up what she uses, a seemingly chaotic jumble of attacks and dodges in capoeira, tae kwon do, jiujitsu, and even street brawling. Half due to knowing it might confuse a foe and the other half cause she is too chaotic in mindset to stick with one style through a whole fight. Though I do know a lot about the martial arts through reading and watching them (not just silly cinema and such but actual videos about the arts) it is still hard to say. One rarely sees capoerista face other martial artists in tournaments. I would like to say she'd hold her own well, but I know how nasty real aikido is in the hands of true master. Sooooo, overall I guess I'll agree with you. You wanna call it my advantage, I'll be a kind kitty and graciously accept the win if we spar. Working together though, oh hells yeah blender! Hee hee hee!
I agree, the most successful fighters take what works and mush it all together when outside the rules of a style-specific tournament or the like. Heck, Bruce Lee made an entire new style that way. And yes, I definitely think the advantage would go to you; there's a big difference between top-10 fighter in the world and a dabbler, no matter how long he's had to dabble.
And now I'm picturing the team-up (3-issue miniseries crossover?). Bad guy approaches, takes a swing, and it's grab, fling-into-windmill-of-legs, kicked back into play, spin around, repeat. Best of all, it works on multiple levels: realistic fighting all the way up to Tasmanian-Devil-like blur of arms and legs. Heh. indeed.
If you could have any super power, what would it be and why?
While Wyldsyde is a skilled fighter, does she see herself as a superhero?
If Wyldsyde was a superhero, how would she stop criminals?
2] Regeneration, like Wyldsyde level regeneration, which is like the cheerleader from the TV show Heroes. I'm sick and tired of being sick or worrying about injuries. No more doctor bills for me thanks!
3] Wyldsyde most certainly does see herself as a superhero...
4] ...because she IS a superhero. She is a originally a character made up in a table top superhero RPG years back and been through countless adventures. She stops criminal the old fashioned way, with her fists and feet! Though once in a while she whips out some archaic weapons.
As for me, my big ol feet are never covered up. No shoes ever. I prefer barefoot all the time. But, if I did need some foot coffins... size 20. I got big feet and really wide too. Hee hee hee! That's at seven feet tall mind you.
I may not be able to do much, as I am naught but a small person... or pony... or whatever... But I would like to give you a paw massage via pummeling it with my Stand's fists. Is this allowable?
Very well little fella, you are given permission to attend to the big kitty's paws! Have at it!
"Perfect... I admit, it's not exactly a conventional massage, but it works."

Cheers to you as well.
Is all gut. Thought I'd at least have something resembling a resume handy anyway! ^_^ Got you coffee, anyway. Mocha with vanilla marshmallows! It's a blast to see you back here again and reconnecting with our and your fandom; what had you leaving so abruptly is none of my business and I won't ask, it's just great to see you jump back in with both paws!
Besides, who am I to argue with a lovely cat lady? o_o I learned my lesson there a long time ago!
