I feel you, the side bar is entirely obstructive.

if they did a banner above or below the tool bar, or even between the art and the description it wouldn't be as obstructive.

but at least they aren't making pop ups that flash in front of the image itself!

Lol. Honestly the proximity to our work is what really bothers me. Its so garrish that your eye is immediately drawn to it and then that art will be associated in your mind with IMVU. Not okay.

I like that they have an opt in option, where they can collect data on the advertisements I see, the ads I block, the ads I tolerate, where they come from and how they display. and sell that kind of info to data brokers rather than information on my browsing habits. Seems far more productive for marketers, and far more private for me.

The sidebar is awful. It destroys the flow of the site layout, even with adblockers on.

It does. Everything just keeps getting more & more broken despite the improvements we were promised.

is there anything in the sidebare right now? it is just a huge blank space for me at the moment (cruising in adblocker to save CPU strength from those awfull moving ads about things im not interested in)

i heard elsewhere it is a placeholder for what deviant art has, y'know that big huge grid of "if you liked that image you will love these!"

wich i hope adblock catches too because then this site will become near-unusable on my old craptoplaptop

Yeah, its ugly as sin D:, but thankfully you can't see it with adblock, just a big empty space. I really hope they don't implement that DA thing, but it would be an improvement over this. I'm honestly baffled how despite the amount of feedback they must have had at this point, IMVU just does not grasp that this community has no interest in their ugly SL ripoff.
