Furaffinity's Twitter news just posted that they would be removing the sidebar ads, so I honestly wouldn't worry too much about it, buddy. I really like seeing your art in my notifications :)

well i dont get there anouncements and honestly it was very overwealming i was commenting on my own work and there add was bigger than my pic even though my pic should be the size of the screen.

I don't like it either, but I was sort of expecting this to happy some time after IMVU bought FA. Their entire business model is making money off of scammy third-party ads, and since they now own the site, furry art is going to get pushed more and more out of the spotlight. Keep in might that IMVU is not a furry company, and that furries no longer own or make decisions for what happens to this site. IMVU doesn't care about your art. They care about how many of the ads they can get you and your watchers to click on. That's directly how they make their money, and what they bought FA for.

Personally, I'd get yourself established onto other furry art sites, as they are growing pretty fast now. I've been gradually shifting most of my activity over to Inkbunny. I'll still be here too, but like many people, I'll be less and less active here as IMVU continues to sap the life out of this site.

AdBlock is only a temporary solution. When enough people block IMVU's primary method of making money, they'll surely make the ads harder to kill, by using randomized IDs, mixed in with the actual art. Then they'll likely offer a paid option for premium users to see less of the ads. I give it between six months and a year before FA is unrecognizable as a furry art site. After all, IMVU didn't buy this site for the art. That was already free. They bought this site to milk money out of people. They'll change things as needed to make money, even at the expense of the art and the furry community.

I post on about 5 other sites and this one now is last in the list due to its current ownership

That's pretty much where I am. I've done my best to support FA for the more than eight years that I've been here. Now that it's owned by a non-furry company with historically bad business practices, I can't support it any more. It feels wrong and empty now. Luckily, about 80 percent of my watchers are on the other sites I use, and I suspect that the rest will be in the coming months.

This site is the only site that doesnt treat non-artists like second-class members, puts me at risk of another police beating, is a facebook clique, or isnt all bugged up with pushing down non-premium users. When and if IMVU decides to start using forced premium and anti-adblock techniques then I will worry.

Until that happens it'll be FA only or I just wont be online at all.

I'm still watching folks here but I've somewhat stopped posting artwork. I may do a catch up and post them all at once, but I'd rather people start moving over to other sites and just forget about the whole mess here.

Problem I have is all my watchers are here...Only have a small handful on the other sites.

I'm watching you over on IB and DA, so if you were to stop posting here I'd see ya over there anyway :)
