How does one make friends?

I am really nervous about going back home over the summer.
I have no one there besides my family and I know that I will find myself sitting alone with my thoughts.
I am awful at meeting new people but if I could even get another handful of people that would care to text me or skype me through the day...I would be interested.
I love, love, looove meeting new people and talking. But I'm scared and always a little bit awkward.
The worst thing is that I find myself getting more afraid of walking around outside if I do not have a push to go and do so.
This has to change.
Even today I made myself go and spend tie in a building on campus I normally don't visit, just to get out of my dorm.
School, of course, is different than home.
I will have to drive somewhere to get to a remotely interesting place which is one of the reasons I've been trying to figure out how to make friends even online.
If people are truthful, I feel like online friends can help more so than in person friends...is this making any sense?

As always, ABSOLUTE honesty/transparency of who you are will earn you TRUE friends. NEVER wear 'masks' or pretend to be someone you are not. Also...hugs help if they are willing to recieve them. Hugs are all powerful... 0v0

Hey work is good, work means moneys.
I'm pretty good. Still trying to kick asthma's ass but it's a work in process~! I'm currently working on my comic for class.
I can only guess! Where do you work?

That sounds like it could be interesting. You probably have a lot of stories to tell?
I'm hoping to get the comic posted it's done lol but I got two weeks to complete it.

I dunno what to say though. I've only ever made friends by accident T_T it wouldn't hurt just to scope out places that interesting people go and approach others, or chill out until they approach you
I'm kind of nervous it's going to be quiet for once. It was weird enough being home for a week and not talking to anyone outside of family.

Accidental friends might be some of the best kind of friends.
I might take that advice perhaps I can find some kind of tea or coffee shop if one opened up while I was gone! Good idea~!
