Well, not only were they using almost half of the screen for ad space (even worse on mobile device), but it also compromised the site's main function which is Displaying Art , i get that some people were not bothered by it, but us artists hate it the most because our art is not a medium you get to slap ads over. It was a shitty ass decision they made thinking people would work around it and eventually accept it like most of the time. If you read the journal you can see TONS of people not letting this thing get swept under the rug, because yeah we already have to deal with plenty of bullshit from FA but this was something we would NOT let pass by and therefore the admins took it out when they noticed every fur were getting adblocks, and therefore hurting their ad revenue.

At least they scraped it >.>;;; and relatively quickly.

They had to, they dun goofed and realized what a terrible choice it was to implement the sidebar on the site.
