SCANNERS
So I need a new scanner. I can't AFFORD one now, but when it comes to searching for a decent scanner I pretty much just suck at it. Don't worry about it being vista compatible, I have XP now :>
I just need suggestions. What are some good brands? Can anybody suggest specific models if possible? I'm looking for something in a moderate price range (nothing more than like 250-300 if possible) and something that is suited to scan larger pieces? And by large I mean slightly bigger than an 8.5 x 11 :1
When I get into a place in where money is ok, I think I might get myself a new scanner. The one I have right now is horrendous.
Thanks!

If I were you don't just a scanner, get a multifunction printer. Saves floorspace in my room, that's for sure

It's the only scanner that will do A3 size and not cost an arm and a leg. so.. if you ever had the need to scan something like production comic boards or large sketchbooks, it's the only option out there.
Besides that.. a scanner is a scanner to be quite honest. Deals on scanners are becomming scarce because companies want you to buy a scanner/copier/printer instead (which themselves are dirt cheap though if you search online)
Plus they're light and portable. I love that.
I can't get anyone to commission me for the life of me.
My scanner was a gift from the family when I graduated from high school. But I have a monster of a scanner it ran about 475-500 with shipping. It's a HP.
The only thing to consider really when it comes to buying a scanner is interface (usb) and DPI. Higher DPI the better.
-HP Scanner 4370
-Should work with all OS, Vista unknown
-Special slot for reading film negatives
-Basic easy to use scanner, no extra gadgets or gizmos.
I don't have any particular price in mind, so basically make an offer.
