Late with this, since the PC port of the game was kinda messed up for awhile with bad optomization.
MKX is as solid as it can be, since its just MK9 with little small tweaks here and there and the return of the run button. But things like back dashing will take up some of that bar. So its mostly on a know how to use it well, and not mash it out like in other fighting games. Blocking is one of the key things in this one as well, and knowing where to block. Since all of the charas have high to overhead starter combo strings. So its a lot of time in the lab for me, figuring out each persons openers. Even gives ALL the frame data right in the combo menu, which is a nice added plus in my book. Frame data being how long it takes to recover from the combo / move you did, being safe or unsafe to be punished by the other person.
Like MK9 its all about them juggle up combos, a good solid string will wield up to 35% sometimes more with burning meter with special moves, or ending with the nice yummy X-ray move. A nice cast of old and new return for this. All the classics are here. To the new ones. The menu system is really nice when training, giving you EVERYTHING that the chara has, moves, specials and combos. And yes...this version is very gory then form the others, some people saying the Finishers being to detailed now on how they look that it grosses them out. This is MK..what its always been about. Jason from Friday the 13th makes his debut in this, to bad they didn't keep Freddy from 9. Who is just really OP right now, a small simple two button strain can hit for 34% of your life.
The new added thing in this version. Is that each fighter, has three different "versions" of styles, some having moves that others don't. So it ads a lot of fun to the game. Figuring out which style is best for you. The whole Faction battle thing that you're forced to pick for online, is rather weak. Doesn't really change anything.
Story mode will clock in around 5 hours, which follows a few of the charas from the game. Switching between quick timed events to regular battles. Not that bad really, not going to spoil anything in it though. Though you need to finish story mode to unlock Shinok.
The Krypt makes its return in here, whatever you do in game. You gain Koins to spend in it. Unlocking art, skins, easy one button fatalities, brutality (Which is just ending with a special move / throw that ends up killing the other person) For a cash grab the did add DLC for a one time pay of 20 bucks to unlock the whole thing. Money grab right there. Over all great game!

Should challenge you to that, but I'll be damned to expect any wins. I'm having fun with it though, and despite being so over the type, the gameplay so far has kept me addicted.

I've got MKX on PC, whereabouts are you? In Alaska, US, myself. S'pose you can say it's extreme west coast. I like to play Kung Lao, Erron Black, and Reptile.
