Having, Getting, Giving, Making.

General
A constant with most people is the desire to get things. The thing itself often doesn't really matter because once they have it they will inevitably grow tired of it and the rush of receiving it will disappear. A similar behavior is often exhibited among those that create things. Once we've made something we lose the desire to possess that item.
We all love the act of acquisition but the process of having something is ultimately a burden rather than a blessing.
However, how often have you felt worse after giving something that is appreciated? The rush itself is short lived, but the emotional connection between giver and recipient is improved, even if only for the giver.
I feel that ultimately we don't want to have anything, but we want to create incessantly and share openly. We are restricted in acting this way because we must suffer the lowest common denominator: those that do not appreciate and those that would exploit.
I wish I could be more eloquent with this.

FA+

Pretty much summed up the whole of FA for me right there.
I think it has to do with my massive pile of stagnant money.
That pretty much explains how I feel about all of my work. I'll find myself not liking a style that I draw in after a certain amount of time then want to try and develop something that seems like more skill went into it. Pretty much at the point where I just despise the cartoonish quality I draw in and want to draw in a more realistic fashion.

Quite often especially if the gift in return for their appreciation is of greater quality than the one I gave them...Normally the rush otherwise does stay with me for getting the gift.
But that wouldn't be polite.
It makies you wonder if you appreciate what you have at all ?
but I try to enjoy things as much as possible ^^
my new tablet and laptop are the case I intend to enjoy as much as possible X3
although i think you're being a bit onesided: "Once we've made something we lose the desire to possess that item"
i really think that depends on what you've made - and for what purpose you make it.
if you're an artist who does a lot of commision work, making things only to give it away in exchange for currency, then you will eventually loose some touch with the appriciation of having something. its the businessman mentality - wether or not this is a bound fact that will happen to all such people, or just some, and how gradually it happens, is something i think that varies from person to person... but in the end, i really think it boils down to the circumstances around the making of something and how it is given away.
im the opposite, that rush of getting something new is amazing, but i still hve fun with it and play with it years aftrerwards
i love to give thins to people who appreciat it, i mean cmon, i have no idea what you were trying to say there
if it wasnt for my nosy, snooping brother id be makeing lots and lots more stuff :3
