Finally a new journal with lots of updates :P

Wow it's been awhile since I posted here isn't it? I think I've been lurking for far too long
Things have been going great, the novel is progressing slowly but surely (now editing the manuscript), and I'm doing pretty well at university and my hobby games (I recently developed a fantacism for warhammer 40k :P)
Especially warhammer 40k, in the just a few months of playing I've accrued over 4000 points worth of chaos space marines and experienced playing with 4 different armies (space marines, tau, Necrons, and finally Chaos) all the while keeping under a $400AU budget by seeking out second hand stuff that's in mostly mint condition. I've played in three tournaments and played regularly at my local hobby store and finished 4th in a doubles, 2nd in a singles, and finally first in another singles just two days ago! (I was so proud :P)
On another note I've also been playing a lot of games, namely Dead Space which though very morbid and without much replay value was a fantastic and frightening experience, probably the only game that made me dread every enemy encounter, Gears of War 2 was great though I have numerous complaints about the lag in the multiplayer and the seriously imbalanced chainsaw and explosives (campaign and story was good but kinda fell flat around the middle for me, turning from an epic war into minor four-men skirmishes), FEAR 2 which though infinitely better than the first and its expansions was still very repetitive because of the very few types of enemies (and I swear your teammates are the worst friends ever! In one spot they get you to go after your friend who's wandered off and a few minutes later say 'oh hey we're gonna take the APC to the island, you can go fight your way through the enemy infested tunnels and meet us there), and Resident Evil 5 has been a really positive experience too, it's not at all frightening but still a great action game with a decent story. Although I'll never understand why they opted for an arcade-esque shop system every time you load a checkpoint or die (essentially you can spend your money on weapons and healing items which magically appear in your inventory from nowhere) instead of the shopkeepers from the fourth game (who were one of my favorite characters), still a good game though
So that's my lengthy update, if anyone cares to read it that is :P
