I'm not against the fingers as long as they aren't overused, but what's weird about using the tires? I don't see any reason why you can't apply the same sort of bending and contortion to them that you do to the body of the car. Granted, the tire is kind of shit when trying to hold hands or press something with a "finger," but I think cupping a boob or grasping a dick with a bendable tire would be great. I just love how you "bend" what you have to start with on a car character without ever having to rely too much on adding more and more elements to make it work.

Maybe I'll do concepts for both and we'll see. :)

Well its more how I am personally. Like how I'm able to do the cutaway art, I always try to stick to what would be mechanically possible or at least LOOKS mechanically possible enough that you don't question it. I'm thinking MAYBE I can make some kind of mechanical mechanism in the tire-hub that would let it bend and 'clamp' but we'll see.

Looks like they had Benny using his fenders more so as hands then his tires. Though I remember in the movie him walking on his tires, the kind of movement I have for my cars.

True true, and some people do have a problem with how anthro'd I make my cars. But to be fair, these wouldn't look like human hands so I don't really know how 'human' it'd be making them look rather then looking like a separate creature all together. They'd only have like 3 or 4 fingers per hand, and they'd be more squarish and mechanical, did you take a look at my Cindi Selfie pic for an example? :)

I remember talking to you about this with the Cindy Selfy picture. I'd said that I'd imagined the cars fingers being the spokes inside the wheel since most alloy wheels have 5 spokes. they'd fold out and leave her wearing the tires and rims as bracelets. :p

Most modern wheels don't have spokes, well stock, I've seen like tuner hubs that have spokes. But most of the time the spokes are just designs in the hubcap. : / http://image.motortrend.com/f/wot/p.....-road-tire.jpg

I DO like that idea with the bracelet that's quite cleaver. XD Maybe I'll incorporate that idea someday.

Right, again yours are very different to what I'm used to seeing in my own head so it's easy to forget.

Anyway you could do what I did or your own version of it, which was make the tires into shoes that can be removed, or in your case maybe even some sort of transformative option. That way you can have either one depending on what you needed for the situation.

Hm. That's a very good question. Honestly, I kinda liked the idea of them just having tires, partially because it's more realistic (just like car boobs, right? XP ) and partially because it looks more cartoony and makes me giggle a bit. Sort of adds an innocent charm to your work. To me, I think the fingers idea would have to be something I see first before I know if I like it or not.

Not sure how much you'll get this, but I sort of imagined the tires working like the hooves in My Little Pony. Obviously there is no way for them to grip anything, and yet we see the characters holding objects like it's nothing.

Another thing to think, whether it matters or not, is how anthro do you want your cars? Are you wanting them to be cars with human like features or robots with car like features (transformers?). Just something for you to think about.

personally I think them NOT having fingers gives them more personality and keeps them who they are, which is an essential part to characters and the way they are drawn.

Like, for example, i have a bunch of non-biological characters in my writings, and they all have t least one or two little "reminders" of what they are that affects how they live their lives. for example, the best one I think, or at least my favorite, is my artificial intelligence character, Kelly. She can project herself into the real world as a hard-light hologram, which can touch and interact with things, but her voice comes through the speakers of either the walls at home where her mainframe is, or from where the projector box is, instead of actually coming from her lips. It's a constant and not too unsubtle reminder of what she is.

The cars, yes they have the body of course, but the thing is, you already are enabling them to walk on two wheels, and have long "arms", how much is left that defines them as cars? Cause already, I look at pics like this http://www.furaffinity.net/view/15895793/ and go, "wow thats, a very anthro pose." like, if you change the head and torso, it can easily be just a regular robot instead of a car.
