RIP BB King
Just hours after I posted the journal about your own playlists I learned of the passing of the king of the blues. I am truly saddened by this news. His music transcended the blues genre to reach the ears and minds of people who normally wouldn't have listened to it. Here in KC with its blues and jazz history he was well known and performed here just last October. My regret is I never got to watch him do his magic.
While heading to the cruise night tonight I will be playing his music loud and proud.

He was a fantastic, fantasic musician and man. I went to see him in concert a few times, and he was awesome. He'd crack jokes, and interact with the crowd a lot. He always smiled, was very personable, honest, and was just an all-around awesome man.
He was the reason I took up the guitar, and gained a deep appretiation of the blues. I listen to his music almost every day, and I always will.
Damn, I'll miss him something fierce. I'm already getting teary-eyed again...
Rest well BB. King, and thank youfor absolutely everything.
