Well apart from being under the weather with the latest flu bug by taking lots of medicine to combat the aches, pains, sniffling, congested coughing routine I've been sleeping a lot to knock this crap out of my system and in the process of being doped up on medicine and researching odd crap on the internet when I was overly tired, bored and couldn't sleep things like cannibalism, boogeymen lore, dark magic plus listening to my Doom playlist on YouTube didn't help matters either.
Well last night I had the strangest, and quite possibly one of the most disturbing dreams I have had in years, apart from my Japanese zombie dream I had a few years ago (ask me some other time about that).
Anyway to make a quick connection to my Runehaven storyline I have been working on and tweaking every so often and my dream, I dreamt up of quite possibly the most horrific and terrifying character in any of my stories I have written. He is called Mal Magus, a recluse mage who had went mad years ago when preforming a dangerous and powerful spell. With Magus slowly going mad through the years he was eventually shunned, and driven out of the city he lived in by the locals, claiming that he was the one responsible for the disappearance of many of the children in the city.
Forced to live in an old, abandoned mansion disused for many years that was once the home of a local councilor that laid miles outside of the city, there he lived for years in exile. Magus' madness over time consumed his mind, and fueled his hatred towards the local townspeople that he soon cast an ancient binding spell over the city, and also took revenge on the townspeople by kidnapping their children and keeping them locked away in the cellars of his mansion, thus eventually eating the children over time.
Here's where my dream takes the twist, I dreamt that I was the main character in this story, a Sigil of the Blade, and it was my duty to search for Magus and make him pay for his crimes.
Upon finding him I notice that he was a rather old man; ranging from his late 70s to his 80s, with deep set eyes, a rather unkempt gray beard, yellowed razor sharp teeth, and long, sharp fingernails. I kind of imagined him to look like this,

Nightmare fuel, huh?
Anyway, upon finding Magus in his mansion I stumble into a nightmarish world of unspeakable nature. A crude tapestry in the main entryway of the mansion on one wall which was nothing more than the skinned faces of his victims stitched together. Random spots such as (walls, windows, floors etc.) throughout the mansion were spattered with dried blood from his victims who were unlucky enough to be caught and killed while trying to escape from their prison.
Finding Magus' inner sanctum I spied various workshop tables with crude torture devices on them, several other tables with the lifeless corpses of his victims, some random body parts here and there, internal organs sealed in glass jars and containers for magical purposes, or to be eaten at a later time.
The most horrific thing however was the children who were not being used as foodstock for the mage were simply turned into obedient slaves for him. Keeping three or four of them shackled at his side, and who would lash out as to protect their captor from any harm.
Summing up the dream I found a way to deal with Magus, found a way to release the children who were under his control, and finally free the ones who were still locked away in the bowels of his domain, also reuniting them with their families, and lifting the spell placed over the city. So happy ending in the end.

Wow, sweet dream. Do you ever host RPG's? That guy would make a great villain.

OP
Thanks Expy! I've never hosted an RPG before, I'd like to give it a shot some time, I used to tabletop game back in the late 90s with friends every weekend. I would love to do it again if I could find the time and people wanting to do it. Yup, that was Magus' soul purpose for my story, to be the baddie lol.
