Patreon = Paywall

I think patreon is great, as long as you don't use it as a way to isolate one group of fans from another. As per Zanth's comments, setting it up so that only patrons can see some content (i.e. special videos/art) kind of isolates people who don't/can't support you financially.

One that I do like is patron requests. Like, one YouTuber I follow sometimes makes videos based on the requests of her patrons.

I see why it bothers people but at the same time I can see patron only content as a reward. I get that some people can't afford to financially support artists but those that do deserve some recognition. I don't want to ignore and alienate non-paying supporters. If I ended up doing special content for Patrons it would probably be small stuff, bonus jokes, WIPS, not substantive stuff but still. helping me live on my artwork is special and deserves special recognition, doesn't mean I don't appreciate people that can't just that it's fair for those that do to get something more for doing more.

I like the idea of patron requests, I'll probably do the comics and do patron requests regularly for it.
