Step 1: Observe malicious intent

Step 2: Accept as a Troll

Step 3: Give no response and walk away, close the chat window, navigate away from the post/page/comment box/your own post entry/journal/comment box

Step 4: If he stopped, Skip Step 5

Step 5: Block/mute/remove said individual

Step 6: Maintain giving individual no attention


If you fed said individual with any sort of attention and only later find out he's a troll, do not worry, just stop speaking. No matter how much he thinks he's digging into your pride.

Snappy comebacks will not suffice, as they will do all necessary to piss you off. Even then, that attention alone will satisfy them. No matter how bad at it they are.

Or any jerk that you may be dealing with right now. As long as you give them any attention, or acknowledge any indication that they're getting to you, they will just keep doing it, and more will join in. I see way too many people allowing themselves to be weighed down like that...
