I currently have an HTC m9 and it's been a pretty good phone so far

S5 is worse than S6 i know from experience

Galaxy, don't go with iPhone, just dont

I have a 6+ and it's been pretty good on battery life and performance. I'd say go for what you know better tho and what platform you have the most money invested into apps with.

The apps I mostly use honestly is the web, Facebook, Twitter, Vine, sometimes Skype & Netflix, & Snapchat haha

I prefer Android over iOS, so I'm biased toward the S6. I've had an S3 and currently have an S5 and have loved them both.

Galaxy s6 man, can't go wrong. To the Apple phones are easier to use and if that's what you'd like then have at it. But I have been through and s3 and s5 so far and I love'm.

Ohhh BOY SMARTPHONES!!! Well I can say that this won't be biased at all. I have all different kinds of devises, you know this.

A windows phone, which is my daily driver, would suit you well if what you want it for are for the apps you listed above. They are fast, cheaper than iPhones and higher end android devises, and are simple; it could also connect to your laptop once windows 10 rolls out.

An Android like the M9 or S6 are nice, I recently tried out the M9 which was awesome but I went back to windows because you know me lol. Honestly though, the new LG-G4 that was recently launched blows the competition out of the water. It has expandable storage and a removable battery; things the M9 and S6 don't have, aside from the expandable storage on the M9. It also has incurable low light performance with its camera as well as good specs all around. Id highly recommend that over any other android.

Now for an iPhone, you could make it work. People hate iPhones but there is a reason they have been the most highly grossing smartphone since 2008; they are dependable. Apple gets all the updates first and new products are always realized on the app store first. iPhones can no longer be hated on for their fragilness either since the introduction of the galaxy S6 which is just as fragile. iPhones are fast, do social networking well, but aren't quiet the powerhouses that androids and windows phones are.

Wait Samsung got rid of expandable memory? And the battery? Well guess I know not to get an s6...I would say though Xepher, the s5 is great I love it a lot, maybe the g4. I personally like android more than the other two, I just think apple has always been a little over priced but iOS is great, honestly most phones out are good now, just personal preference on OS.

Yeah they got rid of it, that's why I would go with the G4 because they retain the battery and memory accessibility. That's if you go for the android that is. Road trip to the phone store lol

I have an Alcatel phone with a blackberry-type keyboard, it's not smart, but it's good for texting and talking, I don't really use the net on my phone much.

I prefer android but then again I also use my phone as a business/ school tool.
I've had the nexus 3 and currently I upgraded to the nexus 5. The nexus line is the only "true" Google phones as they don't have the extra crap from a software perspective.

I have a Galaxy S6. It's a great little phone. Slightly harder on battery life than my old Note 2 but it's too be expected with the processor. I wasn't particularly thrilled with having a glass back and no removable battery, but I rolled the dice and am pretty damned satisfied.

My only warning is that that glass back is SLIPPERY as hell. If you go with the S6, get a case ASAP.

Oh no doubt I'm getting a case for any new phone haha.

you could also check phones like One Plus One if you can get an invitation by someone. I dislike Samsung but they have good phones i guess just thier software is crappy. In order to buy the phone just check out the specs. You should aim for a Quadcore phone with at least 2GB of RAM and also you should be aware of the battery like too. Also search the internet and sites like xda developers to see which phone has active community. Also the Google Nexus 6 is really good :) also Google always keep their phone up to date not like Samsung or LG where they don't even update their phones on time.
