As far as I can tell all of life is a futile hallucination, and the energy of our minds, dead or alive, fuels the engines or powers of higher beings that wonder if we're ever yet evolved enough to recognize it.

I've never really thought of it in those terms. I guess I take a more simplistic approach. So much of life is out of any one persons hand and at best it is something we can barely manage and recognizing that is a sober albeit depressing thought.

But the simpsons has a way of putting it into perspective like that haha
