Questions for Commissioners (and artists!)

Hey all!
Last summer was all about the adoptables for me, and I got very few commissions which was kind of irregular. While I enjoy the adoptables I also really like working on icons and larger scale pieces, so I had a few questions regarding commissioned works.
As a commissioner, what is most appealing to see from an artist? I've seen a few different artists do things different ways-- I know a few people have a set price sheet with clearly defined 'types' or styles of commissions that you can choose from, and others prefer to do commissions on a journal-by-journal 'commissions open, comment here to claim a slot' sort of deal.
As an artist, what seems to be popular right now? I'm having a really hard time gauging from feeback on my work lately, it's been pretty inconsistent.
Regarding my own work, would there be any interest in simple shaded illustrations like the one I posted earlier tonight (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16625171/) as a commission style? Character would be drawn nude or clothed and wrapped in some form of cloth or drapery and it would include a simplistic background.

I prefer to see a price sheet for the basic and then tell me if somethings will cost more. This way it allows me to save up for the artist knowing ahead of time before I commission. Tho personally I loooove and I repeat loooveee adoptables, it gives me characters I wouldn't have think of into my character with amazing style. But yeah >w< aside that price sheets are always nice.
